Leave the pointe shoes at home and enjoy the timeless classic The Nutcracker in a fresh new way as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center has created TheHip Hop Nutcracker.
The project features performances from Kurtis Blow woven with Hip Hop dance choreographed by Jennifer Weber and set to the ballet’s original score composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The show is going on the road for stops in more than 20 cities across the United States. Already passing through Los Angeles this weekend, the show will be presented in Denver, Nashville, New York City, Detroit and St. Louis.
