A$AP Rocky has dropped a brand new snippet from Don’t Be Dumb at the Cannes Film Festival.

Rocky was attending the premiere of his new film Highest 2 Lowest alongside longtime girlfriend, Rihanna, and the two were spotted at an afterparty hosted by Ray-Ban.

During the event, the DJ began playing an unreleased song from the New Yorker as Rocky and Rihanna stood behind him, vibing out to the dance-infused track.

Another snippet was played as Rocky and Rihanna walked the red carpet in the rain alongside the likes of Denzel Washington and Spike Lee.

This song was closer to the sound fans generally associate with the “Fashion Killa” rapper.

At Cannes to launch his biggest film role to date, Rocky previously revealed that he auditioned for a role in Star Wars.

Speaking to Variety, Rocky admitted that he was not at the top of his acting game back when he attended the casting around a decade ago: “I auditioned for Star Wars — for Lando — and my audition was trash. I was trash that day.

He also said Donald Glover was deserving of the role: “My man Childish Gambino was a way better Lando than I would’ve provided at that time. And I think he looked a little more like [Billy Dee Williams] than me.”

Rocky was also asked if he’s still put himself forward for a Star Wars role in the future and he answered: “Hell, yeah.”

He said: “Denzel would pull up to the movie set playing Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo, swear to God. Can’t make this up.”

Rocky added: “He likes to listen to Memphis rappers, but modern Memphis rappers. Then he started quoting NLE Choppa. I’m like, ‘You know NLE Choppa?!’ He like, ‘I don’t do drive-bys now, walk ’em down.’ I’m like, ‘Yo, Denzel, chill!’ It was crazy, he’s really tapped in, man.”

Highest 2 Lowest is set to premiere in cinemas on August 22 before being released exclusively on Apple TV+ on September 5.
