Katt Williams has officially been charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching a woman, according to TMZ.

The reported attack took place on a restaurant worker at the Sportsmen’s Lodge restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California for an unknown reason. Williams’ attack on the woman is said to have left her with visible injuries. The celebrity news publication cites law enforcement sources as saying it all started when Katt felt disrespected at how the woman was speaking to him.

If convicted, the comedian faces up to six months in jail.

This incident serves as the latest in a long line of legal trouble for Williams. Back in March of this year, he was arrested after threatening his bodyguard while a woman beat the man up with a bat.
