Nassau County, NY – Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, has been indicted for child rape, according to Bossip.

He is facing felony predatory sexual assault against a child, felony sexual conduct against a child under age 13, sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Maraj appeared in Nassau County Court in New York today (April 19) for his arraignment. He pled not guilty and is out after posting $100,000 cash or bond.

Maraj is facing more than 15 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

After deliberating for a month, the grand jury decided that there was enough evidence to charge Maraj with sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl multiple times.

Per court records, the decision to indict was made April 4.

Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, has been sent to a grand jury in New York for the case where he is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl multiple times.

Bossip reports that the 37-year-old’s case was sent to the grand jury March 3, four months after Maraj’s arrest in December. Minaj attended his wedding in August.

During grand jury proceedings, a jury is presented with evidence and decides if the suspect should be indicted. A judge is not present and the proceedings are closed to the public.

There were reports that Minaj bailed her brother out of jail, but those proved to be untrue and instead their mother, Carol Maraj posted the bail.
