OG Maco has denounced rumors that he is HIV positive.
Taking to Instagram yesterday (December 23), the Atlanta, Georgia rapper refuted claims that he had contracted the disease.
“Despite the vicious rumors, I am in fine health and have no degenerative or deadly diseases,” he wrote on the social networking site. “My best holiday wishes to the person spreading this irresponsible and cruel rumor throughout social media, but know we are unmoved and will not falter in the face [of] such cowardly and underhanded tactics.”

Rumors that OG Maco had contracted HIV began Tuesday (December 22) when a blind item titled “Which Rapper Is Deathly Ill & Refusing Medication?” was posted on celebrity gossip site Baller Alert.
“A popular rapper in Atlanta has been diagnosed with a deadly disease and has infected at least 2 women,” the piece says. “The rapper’s condition is worsening and has caused the normally energetic artist to be unable to perform at full capacity because he was physically too ill.
“The rapper has come to terms that he is slowly dying and is refusing to take medication,” the article continues. “He also refuses to go to a hospital in fear that if he admits his health status, he will spend the remainder of his short life behind bars. The rapper has not admitted his condition to fans, only a small amount of friends/family are aware of his condition. As the rapper slowly deteriorates, he’s already began to say his goodbyes.”

After the aforementioned piece was published, Reddit users then associated a recording of a nine-minute phone call — which was uploaded to YouTube earlier this month and features a man admitting his disease to a female friend — to OG Maco, according to XXL.
