The attorney representing Marion “Suge” Knight in his murder case has proposed to the judge that his client be exonerated of all charges, the Associated Press reports.
Today, (May 29) Suge’s attorney, Matthew Fletcher, stated that since one of the victims involved in the deadly-hit-and-run outside of Tam’s Burgers in Los Angeles failed to identify his client, Suge should be cleared of all wrongdoing.
The alleged victim, Cle “Bone” Sloan, reportedly refused to identify Knight while testifying during a preliminary hearing last month.
“There is nowhere in this transcript that Mr. Sloan ever identifies Marion Knight, the defendant, as a murderer,” Fletcher wrote. “There is nowhere in the entire transcript that Mr. Sloan even identifies Marion Knight as a driver of the red truck in question; the red truck that hit the victims.”

Prosecutors argued that Sloan’s initial statements to detectives and other relative evidence should be enough to warrant the charges and dismiss Fletcher’s proposal.
Its been nearly four months since the former Hip Hop mogul was initially arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder. Though Suge has maintained his innocence throughout the process, he’s suffered a series of health issues that have delayed his hearings.
The trial is scheduled to proceed July 7 in Los Angeles. If Knight is convicted on all charges, he could face up to life in state prison.
