A Suge Knight advocate has created a campaign via GoFundMe to help bail the Death Row Records founder out of prison.
The “Help Bail Out Suge Knight Fund” was created by KJ Simpson on January 31, two days after Knight was involved in a hit-and-run that left one man dead and another injured in Compton, California.
“Suge is in Lockup for a simple misunderstanding,” the site states. “Please help put together the $202,500 to help get him out. If we fall short we will just put the money on his books. please help.”
$0 of Simpson’s $202,500 goal has been donated. Many of the comments on the campaign site include expletives towards Knight, and question the validity of the funding.

The monetary amount Simpson is asking for is based on the initial $2 million bail that was set for Knight. A person who is incarcerated can be released on bail if 10 percent of the bail amount is paid to a bail bondsman. The bail bondsman covers the rest of the payment. The bail bondsman is then responsible for making sure the accused appears at their court dates.
On February 2, three days after the “Help Bail Out Suge Knight Fund” was created, Knight’s original attorney James E. Blatt told reporters that Knight’s bail had been revoked.
In late March, Knight’s bail was raised to $25 million.
HipHopDX has reached out to Simpson to comment. At press time, he did not respond.
