With the release of his latest mixtape meant to tide fans over during the delay of his Carter V album, Lil Wayne takes the first few moments of his new Sorry For The Wait 2 project to confirm his riff with Cash Money Records and diss the label outright.
On the mixtape’s first track, a remix of O.T. Genasis’ “CoCo,” Wayne claims responsibility for Cash Money’s ongoing success and alludes to the label throughout: “Tha Carter gon’ be late so I cooked up a tape,” he says in the intro, “The garden’s full of snakes so I had to escape.”
“Who kept this shit together? Nigga, me, that’s who,” he raps in the opening bars, “Who was there when niggas left? Nigga, me, that’s who / Cash Money is an army, I’m a one man army / And if them niggas comin’ for me, I’m goin’ out like Tony.”
“Now I don’t want no problems, I just want my money,” he adds in the verse before referencing his alienation from the label: “Birdman Jr., more like Ugly Duckling.”
Earlier in the song, Wayne references his ties to his own Young Money stars Drake and Nicki Minaj before announcing his departure from the label, saying, “I ain’t trippin’, I got Barbie, I got Drake too,” and then later, “All I got is Young Money, no more Cash, nigga.”
Wayne also seems to reference his longtime mentor Baby as the source of his issues at the label: “It’s compensation over conversation / Lord I must got blurry vision, a nigga’s got two faces,” he raps.
On the mixtape’s second track, “Sh!t,” Lil Wayne also makes mention of his ongoing feud with Cash Money: “Did my time in Cash Money, time served and released,” he raps, “But this agent ain’t free, word, that’s the word on these streets / But that shit is old news, that shit is so yesterweek.”

Wayne couldn’t release the album because it was turning out subpar (singles were great but rest of the album wasn’t) and birdman wasn’t going to allow him to put out crap.
That didn’t stop Wayne from releasing his last four albums, which sucked hard. All of the singles sucked and Bidman doesn’t care about quality at all, so you’re wrong on that, too. Birdman is just being a greedy fuck.
Wayne got plenty of money. He’s just like those disloyal artists in the early 2000’s where juvie, turk, BG, and Mannie decided to be greedy and try robbing birdman.

It was Birdman who was disloyal and greedy and he robbed all of his artists. He’s the modern day Suge Knight and will be responsible for Cash Money’s fall.

Then Pusha T and Jay say some things that make us believe they were right all along. If you think Wayne is having issues then just wait until you see Drake try and come out with another album.
