After filing a lawsuit against Wu-Tang Clan lyricist Ghostface Killah three years ago, “The Marvel Super Heroes” composer Jack Urbont has reportedly won his lawsuit. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Urbont won the lawsuit, which stemmed from Ghost’s use of Urbont’s “Iron Man Theme” on Supreme Clientel, due to a default judgment.
According to the publication, a default judgment was entered due to a variety of “procedural difficulties.”
A complaint was unable to be delivered to Ghostface, even by a private investigator. In addition to the issues involving delivering the complaint, the rapper’s lawyer requested permission to withdraw from the case due to nonpayment.
Lastly, Urbont’s attorney says the Wu-Tang Clan emcee failed to show up for a deposition and did not respond to requests to reschedule.

Urbont ultimately demanded a default judgment and was granted the judgment earlier this month.
“We obviously are pleased with the court’s decision and believe it to be correct and just,” Urbont’s attorney Richard Busch said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “As far as Mr. Coles (Ghostface) is concerned, we will now submit evidence on damages to establish actual and statutory damages for willful infringement of Mr Urbont’s composition, and to establish our entitlement to actual and punitive damages for the willful infringement of Mr. Urbont’s sound recording. The default judgment does not apply to Sony, so the claims against Sony remain to be litigated.”
If Urbont is granted a large sum due to the lawsuit, The Hollywood Reporter reports that a lien could be placed on Ghostface Killah’s Wu-Tang Clan royalties.
