Rapper DMX pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault and was asked to pay a $1,000 fine. In return, prosecutors in Alden, New York, dropped charges of assault and contempt of court. The last charge stems from a February 9th incident whereby the rapper showed up more than two weeks late to serve a 13-day jail ruling for a traffic breach. DMX blamed his nonappearance on a contractual obligation to endorse his LP on the West Coast. The earlier charge for assault comes from a intense disagreement at the Erie County Correctional Facility wherein DMX flung a food tray across a room after learning he would be behind bars three more days than he initially expected. According to reports, the tray struck an officer.
