After the critically acclaimed breakthrough album from North Carolina’s Little Brother made waves and a star out of their producer 9th Wonder, the collective known as The Hall of Justus Music Group (comprised of members from Little Brother, Yazarah, The Away Team, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Chaundon, O-Dash, Khrysis, Big Dho and others) is poised to make a splash in 2005. The group, which is signed to a four-album deal to Desi Relaford’s (of the Kansas City Royals) 6 Hole Records, will be releasing four new albums next year.
The four albums to be released include solo albums from Rapper Big Pooh and super-producer 9th Wonder along with Halls of Justus members L.E.G.A.C.Y. and The Away Team. Big Pooh’s solo debut titled Sleepers will be the first to be released next spring and includes production from 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Big Dho and Nicolay. 9th’s album is tentatively titled The Dream Merchant and word is that there is a star studded lineup, both commercial and underground, in the works.
The Hall of Justus Music Group was established in 2003 by Justus League member (and Little Brother manager) Big Dho to create an outlet for creativity and comfort for the artists’ that he was managing. Be on the lookout for more Justus League releases and for Little Brother’s Atlantic Records debut titled The Minstrel Show next spring.
