Jim Jones has finally dropped his Cam’ron diss track “Jomo,” firing back at his former groupmate’s recent rant.

While the two have had a tense relationship for almost 20 years now and have exchanged barbs in the media in recent weeks, “Jomo” marks the first time that this iteration of the beef has been taken to the booth.

On the track, which features thumping, soulful production from Statik Selaktah and Termanology, Jones reminds those playing with his name that he’s a street-hardened soldier.

Responding to Cam’ron’s taunt that he and Ma$e showed him the ropes when it comes to music, he spits: “Them n-ggas taught me how to rap and I went platinum / They didn’t think when I started rapping that I would lap ’em / Everybody know for Diplomats I was the captain.”

Capo also addresses Killa Cam’s claims that he is not actually from Harlem, rapping: “Is he a Bronx or is he a Harlem n-gga? / Fuck all that, tell me what’s the problem n-gga,” before adding: “Let me answer your questions, I’m a legend up in two boroughs.”

Jim Jones had previously performed a snippet of “Jomo” in front of a Harlem mural that pays tribute to his late friend Derek “Bloodshed” Armstead, who is also Cam’ron’s cousin.

Bloodshed was a member of the group Children of the Corn, which was originally made up of him, Cam, Ma$e and Darrell “Digga” Branch. Big L would join the crew as well.

The renewed friction between the former Diplomats was sparked by Cam’ron’s interview with 50 Cent late last year, in which they discussed Jones betraying Cam by performing with the G-Unit boss back in 2007.

The “We Fly High” hitmaker hit back earlier this month on Justin Laboy’s The Download podcast, telling the pair to “get off my dick!”

He also claimed that he was responsible for Killa Cam wearing his trademark pink outfits and that Cam was mistreated by his “so-called best friend” Ma$e when his career took off under Diddy‘s Bad Boy Records in the 1990s.

That prompted Cam’ron to launch into an explosive and lengthy rant on his sports talk show It Is What It Is, in which he downplayed Jones’ claim to Harlem and contributions to Dipset, as well as his street crediblity.

“You’re a Guardian Angel in designer, n-gga. You are from the Bronx, bro. You are not from Harlem. I did not grow up with you, my n-gga,” he snapped.

He added: “Do you ever hear me talk about when you ran on me when BMF pulled up? They chased you to the beach! You was in the sand. You was getting wet in the water from the ocean.”

Cam also made clear that he was not interested in getting involved in a back-and-forth and that his diatribe was his final word on the subject.

“This is going to be the last time I address this,” he said. “I’m not doing this every seven, eight, nine, 10 years. Whatever you got to say after this, I wish you luck. I got other shit to do.”

Cam has so far stuck to his word, but it remains to be seen whether “Jomo” will provoke another response from him.
