Jim Jones has his Cam’ron response song all ready to go — and he proved it by performing it in front of a famed Harlem mural paying tribute to his late friend — who was also Cam’s cousin.
Jones took to Instagram Live in the early morning hours of Saturday (January 18) to share video of him rapping the track he teased earlier this week at a notable place: on East 110th Street in front of a mural of Derek “Bloodshed” Armstead, Jones’ longtime friend — and, as mentioned, Cam’ron’s cousin — who was killed in a car accident in 1997. Cam announced at right around the same time that he would be filming an upcoming freestyle series at that same location.

Bloodshed was a member of the group Children of the Corn, which was originally made up of him, Cam, Ma$e and Darrell “Digga” Branch. Big L would join the crew as well.
Jones knew Bloodshed during his high school years.

“I remember I used to pay Bloodshed a quarter for him to do freestyles. [I’d] give him $3 before the day was done,” Jim told Complex back in 2018. “God bless his soul. Blood was a special, special person.”
The song Jones performed in front of Bloodshed’s mural responds to several claims that Cam made during a segment on his show It Is What It Is. Cam himself was responding to an interview Jones did with Justin Laboy.

In his segment, Cam mocked Jim for admitting that Ma$e taught him how to rap. On the track, Jones responds: “So what more you want to ask him?/You n-ggas taught me how to rap, and now I’m platinum.”

Cam also questioned Jim’s Harlem credentials.
“You are from the Bronx, bro. You are not from Harlem. I did not grow up with you, my n-gga,” he said.
Seemingly in response, Jones teased a remix of his Harlem-themed track “This Sh!t Still In Harlem”, with a bevy of Harlem rappers — Dipset member Juelz Santana, Vado, Dave East, and 2gs Like Gucci.
His new song, which Jim said will be called “JOMO (Jump Off My Ayoo)” [“Jomo” is the nickname Cam used for Jones throughout his It Is What It Is monologue] and will drop on Monday (January 20), addresses Cam’s claims directly.
