All eyez are on Nas for his upcoming double CD, Street’s Disciple, out November 30. Last Wednesday afternoon, Sony Music played a handful of joints for journalists. On one of his first singles, “Bridging The Gap” featuring Olu Dara, pops predicts, “I told him as a youngster he’ll be the greatest man alive.” Olu pops up again on “Sekou Story,” which just might outshine the first track. Nas‘ two other radio releases, “Thief’s Theme” and “Virgo” featuring Ludacris and Doug E. Fresh are also highlights.

The other 22 tracks include cameos from stars as varied as Maxwell and Keon Bryce to newcomers Scarlett and Emily. On “Nazareth Savage,” Nas declares “no one can fill my shoes.” Then, God’s Son rips at so-called role models on “These Are Our Heroes.” Kobe Bryant gets it the worse, but UPN 9, WB, Tiger Woods, Taye Diggs and Cuba Gooding, Jr. get shout-outs too. “Suicide Bounce” with Busta Rhymes is a frenzied club anthem. Then Nas breaks down Rakim‘s life on “U.B.R. (Unauthorized Biography of Rakim).” He promises to honor KRS-One next. Other titles include “Getting Married,” “The Makings Of A Perfect Bitch” and “Me & You,” which he dedicates to his daughter Destiny.
