Following numerous Twitter threats made to Wale by a heckler also in attendance at last night’s (March 31) WWE Raw event, the D.C. rapper reportedly punched the man who sent the series of threats via Twitter.

According to TMZ, a source revealed that Wale was sitting near the announcers when the man he later confronted began taunting him.

“The next thing I know Wale is putting the smackdown on dude. Punched him dead in his face. It was a full fight,” Jawn Murray, TMZ’s source said.

Although the source who witnessed the event says Wale punched the heckler, a newly-released video shows the two men shoving one another.

Additionally, in a post made on Twitter, the man involved in the altercation with Wale revealed that they only pushed one another. He appeared to have made the statement after someone suggested suing the rapper.

The altercation was reportedly broken up by event security, and Wale is said to have returned to his seat.

Yesterday’s incident doesn’t serve as the first time Wale has been involved in a confrontation at an athletic event. In February of last year, the Maybach Music Group emcee confronted NBA commentators at a Washington Wizards game after they criticized the rapper for heckling a member of the opposing team.

“A fan heckling him and supposedly, this fan is a well-known local rapper. Wall-ay. Locally, here,” one commentator said. “Wale is inspiring. I’m sure somebody on Twitter could tell me if they exactly had ever heard of Wale. He’s not Drake, that’s for sure.”
