While critically acclaimed hip-hop duo OutKast sold over 3 million copies of their last album, 2000’s Stankonia, group members Big Boi and Andre 3000 found out on their recent “Stankonia” tour that many fans are still unfamiliar with the group’s previous efforts.

Despite the duo’s 1994 debut, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, going platinum and 1996’s ATLiens and 1998’s Aquemini going double-platinum, OutKast found themselves explaining to fans on tour that they are not a new group. In response to this lack of OutKast knowledge, the group has announced plans to release a greatest hits package that will include five new tracks.

The as-yet-untitled project is expected to hit record stores sometime in December, while OutKast’s longtime crew the Dungeon Family (which includes the Goodie MOb, Organized Noize, Cool Breeze, Witchdocter and others) are expected to release their collaborative debut album sometime this summer.
