Q-Tip will further confuse and alienate some fans, while gaining newfound respect from others when he drops his second solo LP, which is scheduled for November.

The rapper will be singing as much as rapping, and a jazz band throughout most of the album will back him. While his former group, A Tribe Called Quest, may have sampled a lot of jazz, they never went so far as to make it. The album is still untitled as of yet.

Tip will forever be remembered as a leader of the Native Tongues family, which includes De La Soul, the Jungle Brothers, Black Sheep, and others. He dropped five solid albums with the Tribe and then went jiggy on his first solo, last year’s Amplified.
