The Top 10 Most Popular Hip Hop Singles The Week Of 8/27/2012

It’s always good to see a song climb up our Top Singles list and reach the top. That’s what happened this week. While we have a few mainstays over the past few weeks, some new entries are equally welcome (and surprising). As the Fall grows near and more albums are coming, we’re getting lots of new music. Despite all of the pushbacks in release dates, at least we have songs to check out. Here they come.

Game Has A Lot To Celebrate, Slaughterhouse Still Wins

Game’s “Celebration” finally hit the #1 spot this week after entering the list at #4. Just as the song is making its rounds – thanks to help from Lil Wayne, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Chris Brown – we’re getting a video pretty soon (the BTS was revealed). Meanwhile, last week’s winner Slaughterhouse moves down a few…sort of. While last week’s “Our House” was #1, it moved down to #6 this week. The Eminem-assisted “Throw That” was #2 last week. This week Slaughterhouse’s “Asylum” with Eminem again is in at #2. Last week we had DJ Khaled closing the list at #10 with “Hip Hop,” he moves up with Nas, Scarface, and DJ Premier to #7. At #10 this week? A$AP Rocky’s “Freeze” with Jim Jones. One above it is Kendrick Lamar’s “Westside, Right On Time” with Young Jeezy at #9.

The Strange Music Takeover Has Begun

September 18th marks the release of Tech N9ne’s E.B.A.H. EP. With that going on, Tecca Nina dropped “Earregular” and it reached the #8 spot this week. The Strange Music squad runs deep, so there will probably be more tracks where that came from. In fact, there was a track from Ces Cru called “It’s Over” featuring Krizz Kaliko and Tech N9ne. That reached the #3 spot this week. Right beneath it at #4 was the DJ Green Lantern Mix called “#2 On Em” with Jay-Z and Nas. One under that at #5 was Mr. X to the Z’s Dr. Dre produced track “Louis XIII” featuring The Alkaholiks and King T.

I thought his album was gonna be a single-man thing straight banging
Seems like his pocket is gettin empty he gotta do sth against it

    2. That game track is terrible mainly because of the soft corny bubblegum rappers on there

i swear game said his next album would have no features or name dropping and he goes and does this

    4. Good to see the Xzibit- Louis XIII featuring Tha Alkaholiks and King-T on the list, Likwt Crew one of the tightes crews to ever come out, and good to see Tha Alkaholiks on the song for sure Tha Liks is one of the best rap groups ever they got nothing but tight music on all they ablums and to hear one of the OG’s of the west coast King-T on a single is crazy always liked King-T, by the sound of this song the new Xzibit album going to be a good one, wonder if Dr Dre is going to be in the video for Louis XIII since he produced it
