While Eminem is hard at work in the studio, his lawyers have headed back to court to continue his battle against his alleged bully DeAngelo Bailey. Eminem’s lawyer Peter Peacock went into court last week to ask the judge to drop the lawsuit against Eminem that has been brought on by DeAngelo Bailey.
Bailey brought the suit to court after Eminem talked about him on the song “Brain Damage” from the 1999 “Slim Shady LP”. Although Bailey is asking for one million dollars for his name usage, it has been said that there are police and hospital reports to prove his story. In the song Eminem says, “I was harassed daily by this fat kid named DeAngelo Bailey. An eighth-grader who acted obnoxious, ’cause his father boxes. So every day he’d shove me into the lockers”.
Attorneys are hoping the judge will make a decision within the next few weeks. In a statement to the media Eminem’s lawyer said, “At first Bailey seems to be ecstatic that his name’s in a CD that’s distributed all over the country. He’s telling all his friends about it. Then somewhere it seems he gets the idea he could make some money out of this, and he decides to sue”.
