With a web site and locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Amsterdam, Holland, artists and fans alike have been shopping at Fat Beats record store for nearly five years. The underground chain has given many artists their break in the music business as well as provided a place where fans can purchase vinyl, rare white label records and remix tracks.
On June 26th, Koch Records and In the Paint will release the compilation Fat Beats Volume One, a set of tracks by both underground and mainstream artists. Acts on the album include Bumpy Knuckles a.k.a. Freddie Foxxx, DJ Premier, Non Phixion, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane and RZA as Bobby Digital, among others.
