After much scandal surrounding past Super Bowl halftime performances with urban artists, Super Bowl XLV is going to revive its image. Hip Hop group Black Eyed Peas has confirmed that they will be a part of the half time action for the up coming Super Bowl.
Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson caused scandal back in 2004, when Ms. Jackson’s breast was exposed on national television, causing CBS to receive a $500,000 fine along with extensive outrage from viewers. The Black Eyed Peas will be the first urban group to perform since the incident, at the new Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. In the past couple years, there have been performances from Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and The Who.
The Peas, whose The Beginning album will be in stores on November 30th, will take the stage on February 6, in hopes of getting a better response from the approximate 107 million Super Bowl viewers that watch each year.
