On September 17, 28 year old Terius Gary also known to the rap world as Juvenile( former member of the hit label Cash Money Records), turned his self into New Orleans police and was released on bond. Juvenile was allegedly involved in a beating and battery of 27 year old barber Bert Williams, after a heated argument about the selling of bootleg Juvenile unreleased music. After allegedly punching the barber in the face, Juvenile and two of his unnamed associated took $200.00 dollars out of Williams pocket. The actual charges against Juvenile are simple battery and simple burglary.
“The argument was apparently over the barber infringing on his copyrighted music or, as he said, accused him of bootlegging his music,” Sgt. Paul Accardo of the New Orleans Police Department said to WDSU News Channel 6. “It’s usually not something we see everyday when someone is accused of infringing on copyright laws. Our main focus is to concentrate on the criminal offense that occurred, because after the victim was attacked, money was stolen — and that constitutes a robbery,” Sgt Accardo said. Morton Fry, Juvenile’s attorney says he maintains his innocence. “He looks forward to the day when he’ll be vindicated. It’s unfortunate that being a celebrity attracts allegations.”
