Thirty one-year-old DJ Green Arrow is looking to break the Guinness World Record for “World’s Longest Freestyle” by rapping for 52 hours. The current official holder of the title is Wu-Tang Clan affiliate M-Eighty, who freestyled for nine hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds last year.
The Brooklyn-native (born Christian Dunn) began yesterday afternoon, with the record-breaking goal being a tribute to Guru and Roc Raida. Titling the event “Suckas Need Bodyguards,” he will rap in four 12-hour intervals with short breaks in between. Arrow says the 52-hour trek will take him to all five boroughs, as well as New Jersey and Bridgeport, Connecticut. “[I’m] stopping when I get to the showing of ‘The Other Side of Hip-Hop,’ at Maysles Cinema, 7PM [on] Wednesday night (May 5). Fifty two hours is a lot and there is always something to rhyme about in New York City.”
