Currently serving an eight-month sentence at New York’s Rikers Island for gun possession, New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne has formally been given the task of keeping a watch on suicidal inmates.
“Wayne has a job — they got him on suicide watch for other prisoners,” ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Johnson told US Weekly. Johnson, who is the mother of Wayne’s 11-year-old daughter, added, “He watches the crazy prisoners and makes sure they don’t kill themselves. He likes the job even though they don’t pay him much.”
Fans of the Young Money rapper can keep up with his status in prison here, where Lil Wayne plans to blog about his experience.
