Hip Hop Digital Singles Sales: The Week Ending 6/3/2012

Four new singles featuring Hip Hop artists debuted this week. Maroon 5 featuring Wiz Khlifa topped the overall group at #3, while Olly Murs featuring Chiddy Bang began their charting, also a genre-fusion. New Southern singles from Ludacris, Birdman featuring Rick Ross, as well as Travis Porter also appeared.

    Ludacris Loves When They’re “Janglin'”

Ludacris’ said-to-be first Ludaversal single “Janglin'” hit the charts this week. Debuting at #94, the strip-club-minded record follows Luda’s 2009 blueprint for “How Low.” The record impressed Funkmaster Flex, who gave the record the bomb-treatment on his HOT 97 show.

Wiz Khalifa & Maroon 5 Ring The “Payphone”

Maroon 5’s second go-round with a Rostrum Records (following 2011’s Mac Miller remix of “Moves Like Jagger”) artist has transferred to a seven-figure-selling hit. “Payphone” appeared at #3 again this week’s Digital Singles chart. Signed to Young Money Entertainment as a soloist, M5’s PJ Morton recently spoke to HipHopDX about getting down with the Pittsburgh emcee Wiz Khlifa’s vibe in a mutually-beneficial way.
