Hip Hop Album Sales: Jeezy Has Trifecta Of #1 Albums With “Trap Or Die 3”

Jeezy and Meek Mill went head to head this week when they both dropped projects that were continuations of their popular series’. Jeezy comes out as king on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart as Trap or Die 3 lands him yet another #1 title. Meek Mill beat out Drake’s VIEWS this week, though, so that has to count for something. A$AP Mob also makes a splash with the release of Cozy Tapes Vol. 1 honoring A$AP Yams.

Jeezy Snags Third #1 Album With “Trap Or Die 3”

Jeezy’s Trap or Die mixtape changed the game when it was released in 2005. The Atlanta legend might not have done anything groundbreaking on Trap or Die 3, but the project is a landmark one for The Snowman as it’s his third #1 album. The LP sold 89,000 units in its debut on the chart and was streamed 19.8 million times. Jeezy has also taken the top spot with 2006’s The Inspiration and in 2008 with The Recession.

Meek Mill Beats Out Drake This Week With “DC4”

Drake’s VIEWS has reigned for 27 weeks on the chart and this sales cycle finds the project at its lowest slot yet, landing at #7. Meek Mill overtook the Toronto superstar with the debut of his Dreamchasers 4 landing at #3 with 87,000 equivalent album units. If Meek had dropped DC4 the same day as VIEWS as was rumored, he would not have even come close to Drizzy’s 1 million sales. But perhaps this is a small victory in the ongoing war between the two.

A$AP Mob Do A$AP Yams Justice With “Cozy Tapes Vol. 1”

A$AP Yams is smiling down on A$AP Mob as the group paid tribute to their late leader with Cozy Tapes Vol. 1. The project lands at #13 in its debut on the chart after a Halloween release. Featuring the singles “Yamborghini High,” “Crazy Brazy” and the Tyler The Creator-assisted “Telephone Calls,” Cozy Tapes follows the success of A$AP Rocky’s two #1 albums and A$AP Ferg’s two Top 10 releases.

    1. How is beating VIEWS after 27 WEEKS a win? Lol stop the reaching , dude couldn’t crack 100k foh stop dick riding , fan of all music but numbers don’t lie people do.

      1. What type of crack are you on? He gave people the option to buy or listen for free and missed the number 1 spot by 2k fool. His streams were 3x Jeezy and it wasn’t an official release. With the amount of streams and sales he easily just raised his performance cost and that’s a win. Stop hating on dudes winning

        1. Jeezy had 73k physical copies sold!!! That’s a huge accomplishment!!! That’s how you know when you’re a legend in the game. People actually went and bought his stuff instead of trying to get it for free! Streams are so overrated. Might as well count radio play.

    2. Shit ..i called it from the get go…haha. told u motherfuckers jeezy was gonna outsell meeky mouse..jeezy on some real hustla shit

    3. A lot of you guys miss the point on everything in life most likely. Doesn’t matter if he out sold drake or not, he is not suppose to anyway drake is a pop star, meek is a street rapper. I notice a lot of yall are saying drakes views been out etc, true, but why aren’t you meek haters acknowledging what he did compared to the game???
