Future Humbly Reacts To Surpassing Elvis Presley’s Billboard Hot 100 Record

Future has supplanted Elvis Presley on the all-time leaderboard for most Billboard Hot 100 hits — and he’s feeling good about it. The Freebandz celebrated eclipsing “The King” by expressing his gratitude on Tuesday (May 26).

“7 number 1 albums and they mentioning me with ELVIS PRESLEY,” he wrote via Twitter. “Grateful and beyond THANKFUL.”

After 12 songs from his High Off Life album debuted on the Hot 100, Future attained the fourth-most chart entries in Billboard history. Presley and Nicki Minaj were previously tied for fourth with 109 tracks each but were surpassed by Future, who now has 110 charting songs in his discography.

Drake is the current record holder for most Hot 100 entries, leading the way with 222 cuts. The cast of Glee sits at No. 2 with 207 charting songs while Lil Wayne holds down the No. 3 position with 163.

Ambezza Crafted Future & Drake's 'Life Is Good' — Now He's Crafting His Career

Future’s High Off Life LP not only moved him up the Hot 100’s all-time list but also marked his seventh No. 1 album. The project hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 after selling 153,000 album equivalent units in its first week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

High Off Life has already been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), literally earning its certification on the day of its release (May 15). The album’s instant success was thanks in large part to the Drake-assisted single “Life Is Good,” which went platinum four times before the LP even dropped.

      1. It wasn't dead when you went commercial, but you found out that you weren't critically accepted so you went back to the drawing board says:

“Pay me back like you owe me rent, pay me back for all the money spent” -Nas You Owe Me (featuring Ginuwine)”.

So called hiphop elitist aka snobs always come in with their revisionist history, but conveniently forget to mention Nastradamus and the Oochie Wally era lol. Mind you, this is coming from a huge Nas fan, but I point out the hypocrisy.

        1. It’s not that we forget….it’s just we don’t care because he’s paid his dues and made his impact and gave us Illmatic…sure the other albums afterwards were garbage bit we’re still supported him anyways since he still is a deeply lyrical MC… Future can’t even spell the word MC with a dictionary and Thesaurus right next to him lol. He’s got more baby mommas than Donald Trump has lies…so yeah as 21 Savage would say “A Lot”.

        2. Andre 3000 also said “hip hop is dead” in 2001 but did commercial music as well. Gonna go at him too?

          1. It wasn't dead when you went commercial, but you found out that you weren't critically accepted so you went back to the drawing board says:

…well he didn’t quote Andre 3000 so there was no need to mention him, that would be a waste of time. Regardless of him saying it, he never sacrificed the integrity in his music that he was making in the Hiphop/Rap genre. When he turned to the experimental/pop genre, he still kept his integrity doing that and when he hopped back on rap songs he still kept it original so this would be a false equivalent. For the record, I never had an issue with artists trying different things and trying to expand their audience. The whole point of it is the majority of people who are claiming it was dead were the ones in the expensive music videos with women, money and champagne and the “fans” were yucking it up buying those same records and rappers back then were criticizing the commercial direction it was going (Goodie Mob, Wu-Tang, Common, etc.) However, when the commercial hype dies out, they’re on this holier than thou nonsense. This isn’t just to pick on Nas, he wasn’t the only one, he’s still one of my favorites. The “fans” are the problem with their hypocrisy when it benefits them.

    1. Future’s “Life Is Good” single sold more than Nas’ “Life Is Good” album. Drake and Future are the GOATs.

      1. What are you known for and who are you?? Hate is a terrible disease, people with so little have so much to say??

        1. So far he’s known for triggering you enough to leave a comment. So he’s got that going for him.

        2. Ahah you defending a chomo man? I could give a fuck if you found the cure for cancer man dont give you the right to poke little girls now go get back to your kiddie porn you sick elvis worshipping cum guzzler

    2. My life is just so much more enriched now that I have come to know about this amazing piece of news about this wonderful human being and his unfathomable talent.

    3. With social media, Elvis would have wayyyyy more streams and purchases. Without social media him and others like him wouldn’t have been known outside of their cities or tri-state area. Facts

        1. Elvis was a racist and I have no respect for him coming from the south only people listening to his trash is his kind he came from a different time things has changed PERIOD.

    4. You can not compare free streams to actual purchases. It makes absolutely no sense and they should just create another type of charting system. I’m tired of reading stories like Future it Post Malone surpasses MJ, Elvis, Whitney, The Beatles etc etc. if people had to spend 18 bucks on a future album, he would be lucky to go gold

      1. How true. Definitely not a patch on Elvis. Frankly never knew him or heard his songs. Elvis was a global phenomenon in his time and millions still listen to his songs today.

    5. These new stats mean nothing compared to Elvis’s achievements when they did mean something.Someone actually had to go out a buy a record. Also this chart does not even cover Elvis in 1956 and 1957 his peak years.

      1. 100% true….gotta a feeling in 25 years Elvis will still be an icon an nobody will remember this guy!

    6. You also have to consider there was half the worldwide population when Elvis was doing his thing. He still sold 1.5 BILLION records. His Aloha From Hawaii concert was seen by 1.5 billion people live which was half of the people alive at the time. There’s a reason he’s known as The King!

    7. Who is this guy? It’s ridiculous that these downloads of a no-name artist can be mentioned in the same breath as Elvis. I’m all for artists doing their thing and much success to anyone in the music field but Elvis remains the KING of Rock. ?

      1. Listen again to Elvis. Chuck Berry doesn’t sound like him and vice versa. Different style and Elvis is unique in his style of singing and appeal to more people globally. Who’s Future he’s a nonentity outside the US.
