Drake’s “Views” Tops Album Chart For 7th Straight Week

Even after a 10 per cent reduction in the numbers on Drake’s Views, no one could dethrone the album from the top spot of the Billboard 200 album chart. Drizzy has ruled for seven weeks straight now, the first man to do that in 16 years.

Neither Nick Jonas’ new album nor the push Hip Hop musical Hamilton got from its 11 Tony Awards could overcome the Toronto superstar.

Drake almost doubled his closest competition, putting up 121,000 equivalent album units to Nick Jonas’ 66,000 on the July 2-dated chart.

The bulk of that total came from 74,000 streaming equivalent units — each unit equals 1,500 streams, so the songs from the album generated about 110.5 million listens in a week in the U.S. The rest came from 27,000 traditional album sales and 21,000 in track equivalent albums (one unit for each 10 songs downloaded off the album), says Billboard. Overall, the album’s numbers were down 10 per cent for the week.

Drake’s seven-week streak at the top is the first time a man has done that since Eminem did with The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. That album stayed in the top spot for eight weeks straight.

Eminem also had the most recent record for non-consecutive weeks at the top by a man, with seven for his 2010 Recovery album.

    1. Drake doesn’t even right his own rhymes. Soon Drake will do something stupid and fall off, like let someone record how he really talks to his mom for example. He is not a real MC. Again, he doesn’t even write his rhymes. Webster would be where he is had he convinced Lil Wayne he was worth investing in. Drake talks white whenever no one is around. When he uses the Nword he looks over both of his shoulders to make sure a REAL one isn’t around. BTW this dude is from Canada, he talks white and runs around with security everywhere while talking about “run up on me and we goan see”. LOL. Lots of famous street gangs in Canada that people around the world copy and are scared of (sarcasm). LOL. Hilarious. I can picture Drake running up sounding like Steve Martin. You talking aboot me? With his flip-top South Park Canadian head. Oreo Cookie. Well, more like a mocha Oreo, off white on the outside, white on the inside. LOL. With his crew of Arab named white guys. He is always talking like he is from the streets. They don’t even have GUNS in Canada. LOLOLOL. Hilarious.

      1. Please, lame. An urban environment in Canada is parallel to the UK. Less homicides violent crime in the whole country than in a major US city. No comparison as far as accountability for being fake either. Ant no Canadian rappers ducking shots or getting shot at.

      2. Lmfao what are you trying to prove? Seems u accepted that theres guns in Canada and i diddnt say anything else…

      3. Trying to prove? Can’t you read? And replying IS saying (typing) something else. Actually no one SAID anything in this comment section. Smart guy. They do not have assault weapons or high capacity pistols. Mainly shotguns and hunting rifles. There are not gangsters. Other than biker gangs. It is the gang/street enviorment pop tart Drake would like to convey. He says shit like run up on me we Goan see. See what? His security? Call out any number of REAL American MCs who didn’t come up on a Nickelodeon TV show (real street cred) and see what happens. 2026 Vanilla Ice. Doesn’t write his rhymes, and the point which your single digit IQ missed is, HE ISNT FROM THE STREETS. He would probably get stomped out by Mac Miller. Tool.

      7. Do i come across as a drake fan or some shit listen fa9got uve said im right twice now so find sombody who gives a fuck i dont care if you think dead mcs famous gangs or assault rifles makes america great

    2. dumb hiphop nerds dont know anything about hiphop. name a major rapper who hasnt used collaborators or had bars shared? Nas, Ghostface, Kanye, Dr.Dre, Beastie Boys, Big L, Chuck D, Run DMC, ODB all have. But with Drake he is fraud becuase he has credit collaborators? even the reference tracks had a few bars here and there. Despite the haters, 6God run tings

      1. Only DRE and ODB. Both of them openly admit to it, and are more relevant still, have soon more for hip hop than this Milli Vanilli as Soy latte colored Kracker.

      2. well known reference tracks for Nas’ untitled album where jay electronica and stic.man have credits plus Large P edited Nas’ bars for Illmatic. Reference tracks are common in hiphop. And Drake’s so-called reference tracks dont even match the final products!!!!!

      3. Wow. Trying to compare Drake to Nas lyrically shows what a new booty buster you are. LOL. That turtleneck sweater must be on too tight. That cold up in Saskatchewan is getting to you, eh? LOL. Nas is a MC, he can FREESTYLE all day. Put a DJ like Sinister to switch up beats and try to get Drake to REALLY freestyle or battle someone calling out things happening. He would get smoked by a local coffee shop MC. Dork.

      1. Just shorten it to Fraud. I’m guessing BK is your favorite restaurant or slang for some neighborhood in Ottowa. LOL. Home of B.I.G. ain’t feeling this lame. Dork. Your turtleneck is on too tight, eh’?

    3. Streaming 74k untis …. this means he sold 74k of NOTHING… I don’t understand how he is compared to great artists…SMH

    4. lol at the shithead below sayin Ghostface, Nas & Big L had collaborators for their rhymes… and lol at streaming being counted as album sales

      1. Please. Articles by his producer? LOl. What about where he HIMSELF SAYS PEOPLE WRITE HIS SHIT?

      1. Please. Articles by his producer? LOl. What about where he HIMSELF SAYS PEOPLE WRITE HIS SHIT? One article by his producer saying he doesn’t, other articles with reference tracks he took his rhymes from and DRAKE admitting he doesn’t write his shit. You can’t argue against the truth, fukkboy. Your turtle neck sweater must be cutting off your circulation. Might be the skinny jeans or the fedora. Nerd

    5. God my ass. The single he’s racking up all these numbers with is a straight pop song. He sings the entire track, or what little he actually says on it. 40 and Kyla are the reason that single is moving so well. 13 year old girls have had that shit on repeat for weeks now. Em moved physical units to put up the numbers he did in 2000, back when you actually had to drive to the store to get your music. There’s no comparison between the two. MMLP was universally acclaimed, Views got shit on in virtually every review out there.
Congrats Aubrey, you are the Nickelback of hip hop.

    6. There is no way people are still buying his album. it has been over a month now, something dont sound right.

    7. I can’t help but marvel @ drake haters…ya’ll need to get a life.

Drake articles attract the most comments…why? In year 2000 we had to go get physical copies…16 years later the Internet’s taken over so grow up!
Physical copies are a thing of the past.

      1. Please. He has bots downloading his shit. They paid click farms in Bangladesh to fake streams. You have all been banboozled by this Whiteboy.

    8. I hate pop tart fakers. This chump doesn’t write his rhymes. Many articles prove this. He admitted it himself. Total clown. 2016 Vanilla Ice. The same people write Niki Minaj’s shit. Same people make the his and her beats. I like Niki because it’s fake teetahs, fake bumcheeks and a total hoe. Ad least she admits it. She is somehow more REAL. LOL

    9. And the longest running ventriloquist puppet award goes too… Drake. Who doesn’t write his shit, just like Justin Bieber. He doesn’t have the longest number one streak, that belongs to Taylor swift, a woman with more street cred than Drake that writes at least some of her own music. Views from the sticks is one of the worst reviewed albums of 2016 BTW.

    10. If you can get a tan and be sunburnt, I feel you shouldn’t be allowed to say the Nword. LOL. What kind of real Nicca drinks pina coladas? LOL. It’s probably milk.

    11. Always been like that tho… the wackest shit sells the most. Nothing new. It just proves most people have terrible taste in music.

    12. Drake’s name is synonymous with musical genius…like The Beatles, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Outkast, Pink Floyd and Frank Sinatra. Drake is definitely a top 10 artist of all-time.

      1. You are one of those incredibly talented Canadian comedians, sir. Hilarious. You put some strange names together. He is not fit to be the toilet valet for any of those fore mentioned names above. Ridiculous. Very funny. You must be Terrance and/or Phillip from South Park. You farted out your keyboard on that one. LOL. He doesn’t write his shit. Maybe best ventriloquist/muppet…

      2. Fake drake is right up there with milli vanilli, bitch made pop princess puppet. #DRAKEISFAKEDRAKEISWACK The 6fraud with views from a bitch
