Drake has announced that his upcoming joint album with 21 Savage has been pushed back because his longtime producer and engineer Noah “40” Shebib has contracted COVID-19.
The pair announced Her Loss on Saturday (October 22) midway through the video for their recent “Jimmy Crooks” collaboration, revealing that it would drop on October 28.
However, the much-anticipated LP has now been moved back a week to November 4 because the mixing and mastering of the project has been disrupted due to 40’s bout of coronavirus.
“Our brother @OVO40 got Covid while mixing and mastering the crack so he’s resting up and NOVEMBER 4th is HER LOSS day we’ll see you soon.”
The album follows a string of collaborative tracks between Drake and 21 Savage. Besides “Jimmy Crooks” — taken from Drizzy’s seventh studio album Honestly, Nevermind — the pair joined forces on 2021’s “Knife Talk,” 2020’s “Mr. Right Now,” and 2016’s “Sneakin’.”
Last Wednesday (October 19), 21 Savage surprised the crowd at the Morehouse-Spelman homecoming concert at the Forbes Arena in Atlanta by having Drake pop up to perform “Jimmy Cooks” live for the first time.
The 6 God also treated fans at the event to a performance of “Nonstop” off his 2018 album Scorpion.
Meanwhile, Drake has served his “Fake Drake” lookalike with a cease and desist notice, forcing him to change his name.

Izzy Drake, who has shot to social media fame over the last year by impersonating the Toronto rapper, took to Instagram on Monday (October 24) to share a legal warning he received from Drizzy’s OVO Sound label.
The letter was sent on Thursday (October 20) and demanded Izzy stop using Drake’s name, likeness and trademarks, which they claimed were “damaging and defamatory” to the OVO brand.
Despite being issued with the cease and desist, there were no hard feelings on Fake Drake’s part as he changed his name to Izzy Famous and wished the real Drake — who turned 36 on Monday — a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday to the greatest artist in history and my biggest inspiration,” he wrote. “I got this cease and desist letter from OVO couple days ago and as a respectful b day gift to @champagnepapi I changed my name from IzzyyDrake to Izzyyfamous. More life my OVO brother @preme @bakanotnice @tvgucci.”
