      1. this might have had some revelance 4 years ago but this point just shows how delusional you are. Drake OWNS the game. Even Jay-Z is begging for a feature.

          1. how so? explain the hip hop standards, I can list you many MC’s that have set the standards and dudes like Drake or Future aren’t even close on getting on their level.

        1. Crazy talk! Drake is doing his thing, but a lot of the rappers are in their own lane, Kendrick, Future, etc. But to think he runs the game is just blasphemy, bubblegum rap when it’s evaluated.

          1. Funny how you say Drake makes bubblegum rap but aint he got 3 songs with Kendrick and like 20 with Future?…In fact, he endorsed these artists very early in their careers…Is ” Poetic Justice” bubble gum rap? “F**kin Problems” bubble gum rap? How about half the tracks off WATTBA with future – those are all bubble gum rap? Montana remix bubble gum? really? You cant listen to “Two Birds, One Stone”, “Star 69”, “November 18th”, “6PM in New York”, “The Ride”,”6 God” and “Say Whats Real” and just dismiss them as simple bubble gum rap . Drake’s discography is massive and diverse which is key to his success. Sure Drake has some cheesy pop songs I cant stand like “Too good” (for his female fanbase) but didnt Kendrick jump on “Bad Blood” with Taylor Swift, sounding awkward as hell? Smart lengendary artists like Drake and Kendrick create diverse music to attract a myriad of different listeners. Thats why Jay-Z was on Mariah Carey’s Heartbreaker AND a Linkin Park CD. You dont have to love every Drake song but even if you strictly a lyrical hiphop head, he has enough in his catologue to rival some of the goats. His output is massive in a mere 5 years

    1. Drakes manager asks video directors for ideas then has some weed carrier make it for $5 lol And that’s facts

    2. the IDEA of top 5 DOA or G.O.A.T explored.

I have been recording and producing Hip Hop / Rap music for over 15 years now, that experience
and a connection with the culture has allowed me to create a rating system based on POPULAR OPINIONS.
we all check the comment sections on an interesting post, but I’m obsessive during my research with a focus on crowdsourcing. I tend to review on average the 100 most liked and disliked comments from various posts.

what makes a rapper “GREAT” or gives them “GOAT STATUS” are 5 dominant attributes that are shared by NAS, PAC, EM, BIG & HOV…putting aside POPULARITY or ACCOLADES.
just a simple way to measure greatness and influence. a GOAT ATTRIBUTE INDEX if you will.
First thing we as fans notice about a rapper is his VOICE.
Followed by LYRICS, CHARISMA, and DELIVERY… but a very neglected part of what makes an emcee great
is his ability to rap over certain beats that compliment the aforementioned attributes, that’s called EAR.

contextual definitions, synonyms and examples below supporting the above statement.

VOICE / PRESENCE – They have to stand out, the second you hear BIGGIE u know it’s special, aint no guess work. to the point that we accept diluted versions of these voices because of the undeniable vocal presence of the original. look at GHOSTFACE and ACTION BRONSON, BIGGIE and SHYNE, NAS and YOUR OLD DROOG… we embraced those latter mentions because of it.

LYRICS / CONTENT – storytelling, perception, wit… these are all necessary. Lyris are of vital importance in Hip Hop. rapper who are able to diversify their portfolio while providing QUALITY CONTENT always excel. NAS gave us ether and rewind on the same album… that is insane. PAC had unparalleled versatility and an infinite amount of substance in 80% of his lyrics.

CHARISMA / APPEAL – without question if you are not fascinated or intrigued you won’t listen.THAT IT FACTOR is important. something has to pull you in, usually word of mouth or clever advertisement.. HOV has such an interesting narrative right? “50 cent got shot 9 times? oh word…. i gotta check this guy out”

DELIVERY / FLOW – this has to be a natural, god given talent. we know some people just don’t have rhythm or timing. If you cant get this right the bars won’t feel the same. It is very difficult to out rap Marshall Mathers, his FLOW is flawless. EVERY WORD RHYMES. Only other comparable rappers are PUN and BIG L. others come to mind but they just don’t execute it quite like EM.
we can even bring Kanye and Method Man at times. most mainstream rappers today survive off of their melodic delivery.

EAR for PRODUCTION – the number one thing people who are not of the culture look for is the beat… over and over new people are introduced to a rapper because of the beat. most legends are failing today because they are not willing to jump on current beats. i don’t care if you are a backpack supreme lyricist. if you don’t use the right beats it won’t work. Kanye is Kanye because of his EAR. every classic album is 50% classic beats. many careers are made through the ART of beat selection.

      LIL WAYNE’s G.O.A.T RATING summarized
based on the GOAT ATTRIBUTE INDEX and a 5 point rating system

VOICE – at times his voice can be high pitched and annoying unlike the once raspy Weezy of the past because of this inconsistency the comment committee gives him a 3/5 rating.

LYRICS – whether he is talking about his up bringing or some pussy WEEZY always has something GOATworthy in his efforts. after reviewing and analyzing even the deepest, most hidden rap forums in the web it is obvious that his lyrics are not being questioned. the comment committee awards Wayne with a 5/5 for his lyrics.

APPEAL – Lil Wayne is a very likeable character. with big energy that commands attention aint no hiding in the crowd for weezy. he is also a very well known figure in the NON HIP HOP circles. almost in the same breath as SNOOP DOGG…. not quite there yet but getting there… everyone knows who SNOOP is. anyhow, the comment committee unanimously agrees on a 5/5 rating.

FLOW – Questionable choices sometimes, REBIRTH hurt him a lot. but the amount other great works easily overshadows his questionable choices. lolly pop worked for him but not in GOAT TALKS. the comment committee offers Him a 3/5 rating.

EAR – It seems like Wayne raps over anything that he feels is hot. I don’t think He is QUALIFIED (sigel voice) to be heralded as someone with a good EAR, it is more about a 50/50 luck of the draw thing with him. the comment committee agrees on a 2.5/5 rating for Weezy on this.

the TOTAL RATING is an impressive 18.5 out of a possible perfect score of 25.
that is Hip Hop excellence. NO DOUBT that he is in a lot of top 5 lists and he absolutely deserves to be.

      1. shut the fuck up with your old ass backpack rapping ass washed up shit, this our time now and no we wont conform to your fucking boombap conventions. THIS THE NEW WAVE RIDE IT OR DROWN
