Danny Brown has opened up about his “humbling” experience in rehab and announced that he’s back and better than ever.

The Detroit rapper spoke about his stint in rehab on the latest episode of The Danny Brown Show. Brown previously announced in March he was checking into rehab after drunkenly bashing his label Warp Records on his podcast.

The intoxicated rant involved Brown’s forthcoming album Quaranta, which he said had been turned into his label for over two years. He called on his fans to tweet at Warp Records and demand they release the project. The day after the episode aired, he took to Twitter to say he was just “drunk and talking shit.”

“Aye chill out with all the #FreeDanny shit,” he wrote. “I was drunk and talking shit and that’s why my dumb ass is checking into treatment tomorrow got nothing but love for dart and warp so chill out the album is mastered.”

When a fan laughed at Brown telling people to “harass” his manager, he replied: “That’s why alcohol is something I need to be done with cause it makes me hurt the people that care the most.”

In his first episode back since getting out of rehab, Danny Brown said he was forever changed by the experience and is excited to get back to work.

“I will say, man, like being in treatment and all that shit, the one thing it did do was it humbled the fuck out of me,” he admitted. “It made me real fucking, just showed a lot of gratitude.

“I got a cool-ass life, man…’cause a lot of these muthafuckas that’s in there, you know, they had drinking problems, drug problems and that shit. They gotta go back to work.”

He continued: “They gotta go work a real regular 9 to 5. I had one of the best jobs in the fucking world, man, so I was taking a lot of shit for granted. I will say that I’m back. Ya boy is back!”

Danny Brown previously talked about entering rehab while performing at SXSW in March, and said he was doing shows in order to pay for his time at a facility.

“At the end of the day, I’m 42 years old, sitting around smoking blunts all day, and getting drunk is getting old,” he said on stage, according to VIBE. “Y’all have y’all fun but shit could get dark. I’m going to get help.
