Busta Rhymes Announces 2020 Album Title … With Chris Rock’s Assistance

It’s official. Busta Rhymes has begun the album rollout for his forthcoming album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God. The “Gimme Some More” legend made the reveal with the help of revered comedian and good friend Chris Rock.

On Monday (August 17), Rock posted a hilarious video to his Instagram account announcing the album’s title.

“You n*ggas can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes,” he sings. “You n*ggas can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes. You hear me n*ggas!? You n*ggas can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes. Do you understand!?

“You n*ggas can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes. God MC! You n*ggas can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes. Brooklyn, n*gga! You n*ggas can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes. Oh, Extinction Level Event 2 bitches!”

He wrote in the caption, “It’s official @bustarhymes new album is titled #ELE2. Coming soon.”

Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath Of God will serve as the sequel to Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front, which arrived in 1998.

The project received three Grammy Award nominations for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 42nd Grammy Awards. It also spawned three Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “What’s It Gonna Be?!” featuring Janet Jackson. The song peaked at No. 3 and became Busta’s highest-charting single.

In a 2018 interview with HipHopDX, Busta wouldn’t confirm his next album was titled E.L.E. 2 but didn’t deny it either. But, he thought it was going to arrive that same year. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

“It’s definitely coming this year,” he said at the time. “9th Wonder has heard the album in its entirety several times. Just Blaze, Rapsody and they have all been very vocal about it through the social media platforms, and I am super grateful to them for cosigning, their endorsements, the whole anticipation that they’ve been creating.

“They’re all legends. They’re all icons in the game and you know, when they speak, people listen. It’s something I’ve never really had happen in this dynamic where word-of-mouth and the fellow comrade endorsement publicly in this dynamic has happened at this magnitude.”

No release date for the second installment has been announced but DX will be all over it when the time comes. Until then, revisit the OG version below.

    1. Busta still has much potential, but he’s announced this album several times and he needs the right executive producer.

      1. He said that Dr. Dre was the reason why this album was held up for so long…so I assume that he’s the exec. producer.

    2. Bigger, Fatter, Angrier Than Ever….Hide Your Food. Extinction Level Event 2: The Crack Of The Porcelain God

      1. Busta is one of the illest to ever do it and is still ferocious on the mic. Your attempt at trying to be funny was futile to the highest order. In fact very pathetic, you should seek personal development…

        1. Your level of ass kissery know no bounds, I commend you for your ability to have your lips completely disappear inside the ass. Well done, my good sir….bravo…Busta Rhymes has had his time to shine and was good at one time, but due to his personal struggles and inability to control his anger or his weight…or manage himself.. he’s repeatably fallen short even with assistance from other artists. How many times does he say he’s going to release an album or start a new label just to quit or give up before anything gets started. After a while, fans just get tired and lose faith in you after a while. That’s all I’m saying.

          1. Giving credit where it’s due is ‘ass kissery’?? Wow… or was it because your lame joke was void of humour lol maybe if you remove your head from your own ass you’d understand that there’s always politics in the music industry be it with labels or other shit. Regardless Busta has a solid discography, he literally could just stop so i’m all ears for a new album. You can’t front like he isn’t still killing guest features.

            1. So emotional over a lil response… you sure you’re not a Drake fan too lol. You can’t deny that I’m right tho, he’s too much of a liability for almost any label to sign because of his voilatal past. Discography or not… nobody cares about features if you can’t sell records or appeal to the main audience. That’s been his problem lately.

        1. Busta Rhymes, it’s a damn shame what’s become of the once Legendary Dungeon Dragon MC to Hip-Hop’s Version of Fat Albert.

    3. Busta was the first rapper to wear a dress. Did anyone remember? Sorry butt boy men don’t fxck wit dem bum cloggers but the LGQBTABC to the Z gen gon love it
