Final Report: Travis Scott’s “Astroworld” Did Beat Tekashi 6ix9ine’s “Dummy Boy” On Billboard 200

Billboard has declared — once again — that Travis Scott’s Astroworld album was the No. 1 album in the country for the week ending November 29.

Earlier this month, Nielsen Music reported there’d been an error in the numbers and they believed Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Dummy Boy project actually outsold Astroworld by roughly 200 units.

After a recount, the powers that be evidently discovered that wasn’t the case.

“In a historically close race, after a rigorous review of the process and the methodology by which the No. 1 ranking on last week’s Billboard 200 album chart was awarded to Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld,’ we concluded that no correction was warranted,” Billboard told TMZ.

Consequently, Dummy Boy will remain in the No. 2 spot, while Astroworld remains supreme.

After Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Dummy Boy was declared the No. 2 album on Monday (December 3), Nielsen Music has reportedly discovered his project truly did outsell Travis Scott’s Astroworld — by less than 200 units.

According to Hits Daily Double, sources at Nielsen Music say the this week’s Billboard 200 went to print with Scott in the top spot, despite explaining to those in charge via email they’d be handing the No. 1 spot to 6ix9ine.

It was initially reported that Astroworld sold 71,048 60 total album equivalent units, 31,455 pure album sales and pulled in a streaming count of 51,953,691 this week for the week ending November 29, while Dummy Boy sold 65,598 total album equivalent units, 10,137 pure album sales and a streaming count of 73,231,512.

6ix9ine doesn’t get to properly enjoy his victory. The 22-year-old rapper is currently incarcerated as he awaits trial on racketeering and weapons charges.

A discrepancy in this week’s Nielsen Music album sales numbers has been discovered. According to HITS Daily Double, the sales for Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Dummy Boy actually surpassed Travis Scott’s Astroworld album, which was named this week’s No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

“Our team has done a deep dive and found the cause of the initial discrepancy,” Nielsen’s Drew Bennett said. “We’ve since then reprocessed the jobs necessary and re-finalized the charts. As a result, 6ix9ine’s Dummy Boy will be moving to #1… Our team is working quickly to identify the root cause of this discrepancy to ensure that we get it right the first time.”

As previously reported, Astroworld sold 71,048 60 total album equivalent units, 31,455 pure album sales and pulled in a streaming count of 51,953,691 this week, a 60 percent jump from his No. 7 position last week.

Meanwhile, Dummy Boy reeled in 65,598 total album equivalent units, 10,137 pure album sales and a streaming count of 73,231,512, which wasn’t enough to knock Scott out of the coveted spot — or so it seemed.

6ix9ine is currently behind bars at a New York prison where he’s awaiting trail. He’s facing multiple felonious charges, including racketeering. A judge has set his trial for September 4, 2019.

        1. Everything on the internet is true… And if it’s on Facebook it’s double true. I saw them say that on TV so that makes it triple true. Lol

    1. i made a comment about all this fake pushed artists and it got deleted

    2. The golden one Tekashi best since pac and big..very versatile ..this rapper having me listen a full Spanish song and loving it..Free Tekashi..

    3. it can be an honourable thing to do time. and there you have It, tekashi is on top despite the critique… from the handful of people on this site anyway. people can get past as to whether he sexed up a thirteen year old girl. everybody loved Michael Jackson.

      1. Word, dude shot a video simulating a sex act on a girl he didn’t know was 13. People on here would have you believe dude is out here fucken little kids on the reg. They also yell that Rick Ross is a cop and TI is a snitch. Trolls are real and they love to hate.

      2. Michael wasn’t guilty. Drake wouldn’t feature a MJ sample on his album if he really was a pedo. It doesn’t matter if 69 knew the girl was 13 or not, he still had sexual encounters with a minor, so it’s illegal. If I stole a video game from a store and had no idea I was supposed to pay, would you still defend me for not knowing? Too many sick people in the world thinking they can get away with shit like that and people defending them are even worse. Just like R Kelly back in 2003 when there was concrete evidence he peed on a 14 year old girl and millions of people still bought his album. It’s sad when people worship a celebrity and ignore all the controversial shit they do when it’s right there in front of their face. Look in the mirror once in a while and ask yourself “am I really defending someone having sex with a minor?” It’s like what my crush Drizzy did with “God’s Plan” trying to make the world a better place. Let’s go in that direction and get rid of the evils that plague the planet. Pusha TMZ tried to stop him but can’t. Positivity over everything. OVOXO

    4. 65,000 which is not even in actual album sales is considered wow now?! and gets number 1?! i remember back when hip hop was good, those numbers would mean that the album flopped and most probably won’t crack into the top 10…

    5. Can someone suggest a real hiphop site that is independent and not paid off by artists and labels? This site has completely sold out. I can’t even justify coming here anymore, I feel like the old guy at the club.

    6. This kid essentially got pimped out by a bunch of parasites. He’s dumb af but still I feel bad for him. Hope he rats on all those losers.

      1. Why do you feel bad for him? He wasn’t forced to do anything. It’s called free will. He’s a millionaire and still chose to chase some thug life dream…for what?

To prove that a skinny kid with rainbow hair can be “gangsta”?

    7. That’ll buy tons of ramen and other commissary to bribe the other inmates. He might be able to pay them to pull out and ejaculate on his lower back or face.

    8. those numbers qualify you as a #1? wooow lol how low you youngins have let this bar drop. you use to have to be platinum or at least have 1st week sales of 500-700,000 of ACTUAL ALBUM SALES to get that spot when the game was at its height in quality artists and material.

        1. I don’t know because if Dr. Dre or someone like OutKast drops today, it would sell serious pure album sales like approximately 500k and above. These little kids are just happy with streaming sales. If Pac was still alive, he would probably slap half these clowns around. Ambition of a Ridah

            1. Outkast has also sold 25 million records over the course of their career. Stop it! Lol Outkast will forever be legends in hip hop.

      1. That was a double album, so every copy sold got counted as two by SoundScan standards. That’s the only reason that album sold like 8 mill. And what’s that have to do with these two albums? It was before the ringtones, streaming, and P2P networks had completely cratered the music industry.

        1. Nevermind, I saw the other convo and what the context was of you bringing that up. Still, double albums get each sale counted as two, that’s why Life After Death was the highest selling gangsta rap album ever

    9. This is important. Tekashi beat Travis Scott however Travis is free and his team is active to change headlines. All smoke and mirrors guys. Tekashi is clearly the BIGGER artist.

    10. Lmao, the front page link to this story said ‘Update: Bad News for 6ix9ine’ as if he cares whether he won the sales battle or not. He’s probably more concerned with the whole potential life in prison thing.
