B-Real was forced to cancel two performances last month when he got word his mother had passed away. The Cypress Hill vet is currently on the road with his Hip Hop brethren in support of their most recent album, Elephants On Acid.
In an Instagram post, the tenured MC opened up about his relationship with his mother.
“My mother meant everything to me,” he begins. “I will miss her with all my heart and soul to say the very least. It’s tough being on a tour at this time as she is on my mind everyday. Not being around to console my sisters and our family is especially difficult for me. She meant the world to all of us and she was our rock.
“There was nothing she wouldn’t do for any one of us while she was able. She was a strong woman with a lot of compassion. She didn’t tolerate Bullshit and she kept it 1000 and I loved her for that. She’s gone but will live in the heart of my family.”
B-Real also addressed his fans and revealed he got his unwavering work ethic from his mother.
“I’ve rarely canceled shows ever unless there was something serious that would not allow me to be there,” he continued. “She taught me to honor my word and commitments. We have canceled 2 shows only to be there for my mother’s service. I will continue the tour with my mother’s strength and love.
“And to my friends and fans and family. Thank you for your prayers, condolences and support at this time. One love one life. I know she was looking down from heaven with happiness to see those family and friends there to celebrate her. I love you mom. You were a bad ass. Not only did I love you but I respected you.”
Cypress Hill’s tour resumes on Friday (March 1) in Charlotte, North Carolina and wraps up July 14 in the U.K.

I hope you will make it through these bad times by knowing you blessed us with imo the Album of the Year with Elephants on Acid. You and the Hill crew honored your Name and y’all legacy with that Album in these Times and ur fans from day one. Give the Man props for that and for keeping the tour going despite of his severe loss.
