50 Cent Wants To Erase G-Unit From His Memory Forever

There was a time when G-Unit was dominating early 2000s rap. After a string of mixtapes, the members of the group — 50 Cent, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and a then-incarcerated Tony Yayo — unleashed their debut album Beg For Mercy in 2003, which went on to sell over four million copies.

But over the next several years, tension within the group ultimately led to their breakup and (as witnessed by millions of people on social media) Fiddy and Buck appear to have nothing but disdain for each other these days.

During an interview with DJ Whoo Kid for his WHOOARMY Live YouTube show earlier this week, 50 was asked if he’d ever want to bring the G-Unit story to film.

“I don’t care to do that,” he responded. “I’d like to forget G-Unit.”

When told G-Unit fans would appreciate it, 50 snapped back, “Kendrick [Lamar] doesn’t even let those [TDE] boys come on stage with him. I could have did that! What the fuck I’m bringing thirty n*ggas on the stage for? I could have did it like Kendrick.”

Before G-Unit completely dissolved, they dropped their sophomore album T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight) in 2008. The project debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, selling roughly 200,000 copies in its first week.

In 2014, Yayo said the group had officially broken up and confessed he and 50 were no longer friends. But in June of that year, G-Unit briefly reunited at the 21st annual Summer Jam with 50, Banks, Yayo, Buck and G-Unit’s newest member Kidd Kidd. The next day, they dropped a reunion track called “Nah I’m Talkin’ Bout” and solidified their truce.

On August 25, 2014, G-Unit reemerged with The Beauty of Independence EP and followed up with The Beast In G-Unit in 2015 and The Lost Flash Drive in 2016 (DJ Whoo Kid’s compilation of unreleased G-Unit tracks from The Beauty of Independence EP and The Beast Is G-Unit).

But old wounds evidently never healed and 50 said he and Banks were no longer on speaking terms in 2018. Fiddy confirmed he’d left the group in an Instagram post shortly after.

Elsewhere in the interview, 50 talked about his Power television series, the Jam Master Jay murder arrests and more.

    Watch it above.

    1. This might be the first time I actually have to say fuck this guy smh I loved G-unit growing up. This is a slap in the face to fans who supported and went out and bought albums

      1. I agree, he used everyone around him and then discarded them once they’ve outlived their usefulness. That’s a b*tch move.

        1. Nah he put on grown men that were complacent and had no fuckin drive. You outside looking in commenting niggas on shot you don’t know about need to run into a wall head first. Pussy Ass Niggaz

          1. You sound like a disgruntled bitch. Just because you put people on, that makes you god? Not everybody has the same life goals. They were content with what they had and focused on family. Just cause your a bum with no family and live on the streets don’t mean others can’t enjoy what they have

        1. His son was brainwashed by his mother to hate him even though he has given him everything in life to succeed. His son is a little shit and disrespectful by posing with his enemies son. I don’t blame 50 for that. Women do that shit everyday and brainwash children. What I mean by the first time is, usually I don’t like the people 50 beef with anyways (besides the LOX) so I was always ok with it, even with Game for being a shithead. But to turn on your actual day 1 friends and get mad over success? Everyone measures success different

    2. Banks was loyal to a fault to the rat 50 cent. For a long time NO ARTISTS wanted anything to do with 50 due to him dissing Wayne, Kanye West, Diddy, Ross, Cam’ron, Nas, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Ja Ryle, Jay-Z, The Game, DJ Khaled, the list literally goes on and on. At a time when artist we’re collaborating left and right 50 chose to alienate himself AND his label mates from the rest of the industry. I’m a big Lloyd Banks fan and always felt his relationship with 50 is what actually hindered his career. Now 50 definitely has bounced back nicely in OTHER businesses but forgets he ruined his own music career (from #1 artist in the game to musically irrelevant and bankrupt) Say what you want about Ross he’d never diss his current/former artists. 50 literally loves to talk sh&% about everyone but himself smh

    3. This is one reason why I respect the game nigga held his own when everyone in the group were dissing Ja rule. Now look

      1. He is making POWER moves…you was nothing in high school and still ain’t sh8 now, go sit down and reflect on your life bozzo

      2. You can’t be talking bout fif bruh. You taking bout a MULTIMILLIONAIRE nigga thats doing POWER moves thats bigger than music.WTF happened to you bruh you was NEVER anybody.

    4. the only reason curtis the hoe snake jaccson wants to erase g unit is because he’s a bytch. banks, game an bucc outshine him in lyrics and rawness. everybody know curtis is a hoodrat so ppl are distancing themselves from him. to me, the aforementioned better rappers should be glad curtis wants to flashy thing independence day ppl from g unit’s existence. 30 cent wouldn’t the others from prosper because he is a jealous twit and didn’t lyke the others making him look unimportant. at this point nobody is checking for curtis as he’s quickly leaving ppl’s minds as they look to other up and coming entertainers because 18 cent is done and he can’t handle that.

    5. 50 & G-Unit was nothing for him to be ashamed of. They had a good brand but once the illusion of the G-Unit family shattered there was no fixing it. Don’t have to “erase” it. Just let it be a fixture of the past.

    6. It’s to bad fifty is such a shitty people person they had one of the best groups to do it brought a whole new sound and banks the PLK is straight fire, turned your back on yours boys because it costed you…. money is worthless if your lonely all your life

    7. Fiddy is the nigga I love though I ain’t got to know about him personally but he talking about erasing G-Unit from him memory forever is shit I don’t stand for.
G-Unit is a group I like so much musically. Hoping they can just fix shit up and reunite once again.
      My opinion though.

    8. 50 cent ruined defjam everyone celebrated similar to what others are doing with that gubha kid tekash69. We enjoy this loud mouth shouty no substance man while there ruining good artist and destroying the music we love. 50 cent destroyed hip hop music now this tekashi 69 is destroying hip hop music removing it from its stable to white suburbs just like what happened with rock an roll. We should have stand with murder inc and defjam against shaddy and aftermath now it’s too late

    9. Fif is my dude..but for him to say that ijust shoews how much he is ballooning.. is he forgetting that it was Banks’ who told him to switch his style up?lol ..but naa, really thats apart of his foundation…its kinda like when you fk with a bitch then find out shes a hoe??

    10. Why does fifty keep popping up? The dude is so irrelevant. His tv series, according to so many of its fans, has fallen off massively. And as for music its been over for him since ‘the massacre’.
I havent paid attention to 50cent ( aside from this article because its about gunit ) for at least 15 years. Dudes story is one of the biggest falls from grace in hip hop history. Nobody is checking for 50cent anymore.

    11. G unit more like snitch unit 50 cent wants to leave them behind and join nypd with he’s little daughter tekashi there both snitches on witness protection a gangsta like harmz satana has want there protected from as protection I’m going to lyrically slaughter tekashi and 50 cent 50 cent will get put to sleep goofy bitch and I’m deutsch Italian and Scottish not a British chap. Crip gang 4lyfe ms13 2da def alqeada 4 eva. non vuoi promblemi. Agenzia di harmz.

    12. This piece of trash group represented everything that is wrong with not only the hip-hop community for the past almost 24 to 25 years, but the music and entertainment industry, I Know death row records, i know def jam, ruff ryders and all of that, g-unit is just plain crap, banks is an idiotic rip-off of method man, buck and game are completely wasted and young buck is garbage and 5-0 aka 50 is pathetic.

G-Unit is a piece of absurd junk and i’m glad they are no longer in existence.
