50 Cent Condemns Gayle King’s Kobe Bryant Interview: ‘Is It Justice Or Is It Revenge?’

50 Cent has been doing the press rounds ahead of the premiere of For Life, his forthcoming ABC drama about Isaac Wright Jr. who was imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. While speaking to Access, the Power mogul was asked about the recent controversy surrounding Gayle King’s interview with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie.

During their conversation, King asked Leslie about Kobe Bryant’s 2003 sexual assault case, which didn’t sit well with a number of people considering Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash late last month.

“I don’t understand what the goal is,” he said. “To be honest, after the man has passed away, what is the goal at that point? I do think it’s unfair to his legacy. I’m all for the actual movement, but is it for justice or is it for revenge?

“There’s a point where the accusations, they destroy everything and there’s no system involved. We’re talking about problems that we have with the system because the system doesn’t work without good people, if we leave it up to the public court of opinion.”

Snoop Dogg was also vocal about not only his disdain for King’s questions but also Oprah Winfrey who has faced criticism due to her affiliation with the Russell Simmons sexual assault documentary, On The Record.

He issued a simple “fuck u and Gayle King” while calling for Bill Cosby’s freedom. Cosby, in turn, thanked Snoop from prison where he’s currently serving three to 10 years for the sexual assault of a former Temple University employee.

Sports journalist Jemele Hill then reminded Snoop the disgraced comedian is a convicted sexual predator, while former U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice called Snoop’s commentary  “despicable” and warned the West Coast OG to “back the **** off.”

Snoop ultimately clarified his original statements, saying, “I’m a non-violent person. When I said what I said, I spoke for the people who felt like Gayle was very disrespectful towards Kobe Bryant and his family. Now with that being said, what’d I look like want some harm to come to a 70-year-old woman? I was raised way better than that.

“I didn’t want no harm to come to her, I didn’t threaten her. All I did was say check it out, you out of pocket for what you doing and we watching you. Have a little bit more respect for Vanessa, her babies and Kobe Bryant’s legacy.”

    1. This is the part where everybody throws in their 2 cents about the need to preserve Kobe’s legacy. #Youareallwelcome.

      1. Man that little bs he was accused of could never stack up against his legacy on or off the court so it really don’t matter who comments this or that.

      1. caught with what? YOU think you know but you dont know what really happened. Cosby could be innocent……. and MJ and 2pac could all be alive…. or they could all be dead for all we know. You dont know shit shut the fuck up cosby dont care you arent a fan lame tard

      1. I wish someone could address whether Gayle/Oprah set themselves up to please network power bases by asking the questions that the power structure would like to ask but use them instead. Just asking.Because who in their right mind unmanipulated would want to think anything different than Kobe was a man who evolved, that who are they to pick the butterfuly’s wing

    2. I have a profound level of respect for 50 for speaking up. A line has been crossed by Gayle, Oprah, Susan Rice and their supporters. It’s my hope that more people speak up and their voice to chorus of people shining light on their cruel actions and the impact they have on so many innocent souls, in particular Kobe’s widow and surviving children. The heartlessness of their actions goes beyond the pale as it serves as stark reminder of the evil that can beget our souls if we do not continously humble ourselves by living in acceptance of our flaws before judging those of our fellow man particularly in death.

      1. Fuck Susan rice and Oprah who gives a fuck about Oprah crying saying Gail hasn’t slept. You think Vanessa and her daughters have slept. You wrong for this and you all know it, the man hasn’t been laid to rest and you asking these damn profound questions when Lisa Leslie told you and you push anyways. Now go after your true friend Harvey Weinstein

    3. Now we are taking opinions on what is morally right from idiots like Fofty? cRappers just rap and shut up. In this dooosh bags case, just create your shit shows nobody watches and shut up.

      1. You see memo, what you are failing to realise is the fact that 50 neither created the problem at the heart of this mess nor did he bring the issue up in his interview. Furthermore, if you check your facts people do watch 50 shows and that’s why his hit TV show had ratings so high it had an impact on the TV Network that hosted it and its resulted in 3 spin-off sitcoms. Nobody said 50 was perfect but then again neither are you. I suggest you take a long stare in the mirror after calling people names because you’ll realise that in so doing, you have exposed the fact that YOU have issues with accepting the truth.
