21 Savage has shared how deeply he felt TakeOff, Gunna and Young Thug‘s absence when he took the stage in Atlanta for Lil Baby‘s birthday concert.

The Slaughter Gang rapper appeared as Drake‘s surprise guest during his set at the ‘Lil Baby + Friends’ concert on Friday (December 9). The two performed “Rich Flex” from their recent collaboration Her Loss in front of a roaring crowd excited to see the hometown hero emerge.

While they may not have known 21 Savage was on the night’s line up, fans knew to expect surprises at Lil Baby’s third annual celebratory performance. Last year, he welcomed Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo, and the City Girls, among others.

Following the performance of their collab, 21 Savage took to Twitter to shout out incarcerated YSL members Gunna and Young Thug, as well as the late TakeOff and the late Lil Keed.

“Didn’t even feel right without thug and gunna tonight,” he wrote with a heartbreak emoji. “LL Takeoff And Keed.”

YSL rapper Lil Keed passed away unexpectedly in May at the age of 24 after reportedly experiencing severe stomach pain which ultimately led to multiple organ failures. His death came just days after Thug and Gunna were among the 28 YSL-affiliated individuals arrested for conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participating in “criminal street gang” activity.

In October, YSL affiliate Jayden Myrick became the first person to be convicted following the sweeping RICO indictment. Myrick, known by the aliases “JayMan” and “Set Trip,” was found guilty of robbery and murder in connection to a July 2018 case and sentenced to life without parole. He was actually already in prison on charges connected to the incident when he was named in the YSL indictment.

Thug and Gunna’s trial will begin on January 9, 2023 and could last for more than half a year. Both artists have been denied multiple attempts at securing a bond to be released. In October, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed a 10-page motion asking for a two-month delay in the trial to allow a number of the defendants to find legal representation.

At the time, more than a quarter of the 28 alleged YSL members named in the indictment were without a lawyer. The motion was also denied.

On Sunday (December 11), Offset revealed that he plans to kickstart his concerts with a massive tribute to TakeOff, who was shot and killed in Houston, Texas in November.

The remembrance includes a photo of the Last Rocket rapper being projected onto the on-stage screen as The Jackson 5’s “Never Can Say Goodbye” plays throughout the venue’s speakers.
