2017 Billboard Music Awards Winners

The Billboard Music Awards give props to those who make a mark on the industry numbers-wise. Drake has an astounding 22 nominations at this year’s event and his fellow performer Nicki Minaj is up for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award. Rihanna and The Weeknd were also heavy contenders with 14 and 13 nominations respectively.

The event was held Sunday (May 21) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Several awards were handed out before the televised ceremony began and the stars were walking the magenta carpet. Drake already nabbed several trophies, including Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Tour. As the official ceremony got underway, he also grabbed Best Male Artist, beating out Justin Bieber, Future, The Weeknd and Shaun Mendes. He ended the night with 13 awards, breaking Adele’s single year record with 12 in 2012.

VIEWS was named Top Rap Album and won Top Billboard 200 Album against Beyoncé’s LEMONADE, Rihanna’s ANTI and The Weeknd’s Starboy.

Queen Bey was named Top Female Artist and LEMONADE took home the trophy for Best R&B Album.

Desiigner won Top Streaming Song and Top Rap Song with “Panda,” which has been certified four-times platinum.

Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane won Best Rap Collaboration with the Mike WiLL Made-It-produced “Black Beatles.” The song was the duo’s — and Gucci Mane’s — first to hit the top of the Hot 100 chart and inspired the viral Mannequin Challenge.

    1. Man, I wish one day people will stop caring about these awards, they really dont mean shit. I see awards being handed out to artists who play the system and not truly express themselves. Now were gonna have to keep hearing “award winner, Drake” forever….

    2. Drizzaveli keeps winning left and right. OVO can’t be stopped. #DrakeIsLoveDrakeIsLife #MoreLife

    3. It’s an award show about who sold the most and who got played the most. That’s drake of course. My thing is, why is he nominated for top rapper? When he is clearly an R nd B artist.
