Epik High’s Tablo took to Twitter yesterday (January 17) to share that all his data from his Apple Notes app—including “lyrics from the past 10 years”—have been wiped from his device after an automatic iOS update.

“The ios was automatically updated and the lyrics from the past 10 years were deleted along with all the notes in the note app…,” he tweeted in Korean.

Many fans sympathized with Tablo, noting the labor lost, especially a decades-worth of accumulated work. One Twitter user suggested keeping a written copy of lyrics to avoid a similar tech blunder in the future. “…It is good to work on paper composition notes first, even if it is analog. What is written on paper does not disappear easily”—to which the South Korean artist replied, “Will there be 100 notebooks I’ve lost? ㅎㅎ”

Some were perplexed with the accidental deletion when Apple devices with active Apple ID and iCloud accounts should have an automatic backup, tagging the official Apple Support Twitter account to offer assistance.

Tablo expressed his gratitude to the well-wishers and wrote, “Don’t worry, the lyrics that will remain in your memory will be remembered!!”

On more pleasant news, Tablo and the rest of Epik High have been invited to perform at this year’s edition of Coachella, alongside fellow Asian acts Joji, Rich Brian, and NIKI. The iconic group is also set to embark on a North American tour this year.
