Taiwanese neo-soul acts LINION and It’s Your Fault will perform at this year’s edition of LUCfest, a music showcase festival held annually in Tainan, Taiwan.
The two acts join a multi-genre bill, which boasts “more than 60 showcases” across six stages in the city. LUCfest’s artist showcase program usually involves a mix of international and local acts, but due to the pandemic, it will only hold live events for its local lineup for the upcoming edition. This year’s hybrid festival will stream the international artists’ performances, which include music acts from Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, and the US.
The 2021 edition will take place from November 25 until 28, hosting more than 200 international music industry professionals from record companies, labels, festival curators, and media.
According to its website, LUCfest is “leads the audience to deeply explore the rich energy of Taiwan’s independent music, [and also] establish a platform for information and resource exchange between Asian and Western music industries, promoting talented Taiwanese artists to the international stage.”
Artists who perform at LUCfest are chosen through an open-call selection. Similar to SXSW in the US, the festival is geared towards network-building and for audiences to be exposed to music acts that may not usually be included in big, consumer festivals.
