Filipino-American producer Mndsgn dropped the balmy visuals for “Slowdance,” his second offering from his upcoming record, Rare Pleasure, out via Stones Throw Records, the storied LA-based independent record label home to fellow Fil-Am artist Vex Ruffin and of course, J Dilla and MF DOOM (as well as Madvillain).

According to a press release, “‘Slowdance’ is dedicated to the vulnerability of growth in new relationships.” The album, out on June 4, is inspired by “soundtrack music, samba, exotica and ’70s/’80s library records” and rooted on the “concept of […] an appreciation of sharing life, inward reflection, and the gift of joyful catharsis.”

The album concept is characterized as “an appreciation of sharing life, inward reflection, and the gift of joyful catharsis. Threaded throughout the album is a ‘Rare Pleasure’ theme inspired by soundtrack music; its repetitions and variations ‘echo the recurring motifs we experience in life, sometimes being revisited by the same lessons in different shapes and forms.'”

Get in rhythm with the analog visuals conceptualized by Mndsgn himself, as realized by Eric Coleman in the music video below.
