Indonesian rapper Lucky Lelapary teams up with Tanimbar-based rappers Onnal Caribo (Black Face), Jasen LA (Kokangbeatztcf), Lil BRo (Tanimbar Slaq Squad), King P, and Fenzo (ARF) for “Hir, Yahahe” via JENDERAL PETRUK.
The track is an homage to Tanimbar history, people, and culture. It opens with chants and the sounds of the Tifa, a single-headed goblet drum used widely in the Maluku Islands, where Tanimbar is situated.
“‘Hir, Yahahe’ and ‘Hurya, ha’ are essentially the same, which in the Tanimbar language itself is a command to do something. These are usually used by Tanimbar elders to give orders in everything that needs to be done together such as in traditional ceremonies, wars, and others,” according to the video description.
“We deliberately took the word as the title with the reason and hope to invite and give orders or orders to all young generations, especially the younger generation of Tanimbar to embrace each other without criticizing or bringing down others in any way. And let us, as children of the Tanimbar Islands region, continue to take care of and preserve the inheritance or inheritance of our ancestors. Times may change but let’s not forget the customs, traditions and culture,” also noted by JENDERAL PETRUK.
