Indonesian hip hop artist Matter Mos shares his debut album, Pronoia, out now as a Storefront digital exclusive.

According to Matter Mos, the album title “represents the opposite of paranoia. People who experience paranoia (in which I have, lucky you if you haven’t) feel like the universe is conspiring to do bad things against them, pronoia is the other way around.” However, he said, it’s “not what this album is about” and leaves it up to the listeners to decide.

The project was “years in the making,” with “everything about this project was directed and executively produced by yours truly.” He shared that nearly 40 people were involved in putting the album together.

The 11-track album features fellow Indonesian artists, including Romantic Echoes, Ramengvrl, Faye Risakotta, Teddy Adhitya, Kamga, Danilla, Ariel Nayaka, and Kay Oscar, with production credits from CVX, Dipha Barus, MBE, NAJ, Cosmicbury, Grey Box, Donni Joe, Akmal Rizky, Heston Prasetyo, and Densky9.

Mastered by ???? ?????, “That Life” captures “a day in [the] life of [the] Indonesian underground music scene, rarely viewed by the world.” Along with the high-quality version of the track, the NFT art will also include other “unlockables” such as raw stems and 26 pictures from various Indonesian photographers—including Matter Mos himself—of Indo’s underground music scene before the pandemic.
