Sometimes Hip Hop can move at a pace too frantic for even the most devoted fan to keep up with. Albums and mixtapes are released at breakneck speed, careers are made and broken with the swipe of a pen, and somewhere in between all the madness actual music (the quality of which vacillates between excellent and god awful) is being made. Twitter provides a nice summary of everything 140 characters at a time. And if you’re the type that would rather not be bothered with stepping into the Twitterverse to catch up on the latest in Hip Hop, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s tweets and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.
This week, Freddie Gibbs celebrates his born day, Drake and Lil Wayne announce a joint tour, and Tyler, The Creator fires back at annoying fan.
Birdman On Lil Wayne: “The Best Rapper Alive”
In a HipHopDX list of collaborations dedicated to Father’s Day, we mentioned Birdman and Lil Wayne’s father/son relationship (even thought they aren’t biologically related). Birdman, co-founder of Cash Money Records, further supported his “parental” role when he tweeted about Lil Wayne’s upcoming album, Tha Carter V. He called Weezy, “my son.” You can also tell that Birdman is Weezy’s biggest fan. How could you not be when your “son” is one of the most successful and well-known rappers of this generation and you watched his career blossom from its early stages?

Q-Tip & Action Bronson Watch The World Cup In Spanish
Hey guys, there’s a world wide sporting event going on called the World Cup, currently taking place in Brazil (in case you’ve been living under a rock). Between the NBA and NHL finals, it’s hard to concentrate on a sport that isn’t so popular in the States as it is worldwide. Well, Q-Tip and Action Bronson are keeping up with fútbol and they both agree that the games sound better in Spanish. If you plan on tuning into the World Cup, compare ESPN and Univision’s coverage of the games even if you don’t speak Spanish. You’ll instantly hear the difference in the levels of energy and pace. The game may be slow moving (to some) but the tensions are always high in a tournament like this one.

Happy Birthday Freddie Gibbs
Freddie Gibbs celebrated his born day by sharing Instagrams (one from his childhood) and re-tweeting all of his birthday wishes. He also proved that he’s not selfish on his birthday because in a tweet he wrote that he gives his mother a gift on his birthday for the hard work it took to bring him into this world. Have you ever thought about giving your mother a gift on your birthday for that reason? That’s a sweet and interesting way of looking at it. Really quick, happy birthday Freddie Gibbs! Tell whoever runs your online presence to update your Wiki page because it looks like it has the wrong birthday.
ScHoolboy Q Has Moms Wearing Bucket Hats
A fan tweeted ScHoolboy Q a picture of his mother mean-mugging the camera while wearing a bucket hat. “My mom followed the tHe Hype,” the fan told Q in a tweet that was later retweeted by the TDE star. Summer is the perfect time to buy your mother a bucket hat to up her cool factor. The brim protects the face from the sun, which is a must-have for moms that have to spend a lot of time outdoors. Sure, it’s Father’s Day, but you can stock up for birthday gifts and next year’s Mother’s Day or just give your dad one too.

The formula worked. Let’s see how it does with the Young Money members.

Nipsey Hussle Supporting Fatburger
If Nipsey Hussle is in Los Angeles, chances that he’s rolling up to the newly-opened Fatburger on Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue are extremely high, considering he designed the uniforms. During the ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this year, Nip spoke with MTV News on how a collaboration with Fatburger came about. “Fatburger being an iconic brand in L.A., our core values aligned,” Nipsey Hussle said. “We had an idea to co-brand the Crenshaw collection from the MarathonClothing with the Fatburger logo.” Going out to see your “pieces of art” in action is another reason to grab lunch at a specific location.
Drake’s Houston Appreciation Week In Pictures
Drake has been holding Houston Appreciation Week events since Thursday and he’s already received the honor of having his own “Drake Day” in Houston. Last night, Drake held a warehouse concert and brought out many musical guests. A few of the guests that joined on him on stage were Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean and Z-RO. As you can see radio and TV personality Devi Dev was on the stage to snap a few picture during Drake’s 2.5 hour set. Tinashe, Travis $cott, OB Obrien and PARTYNEXTDOOR also performed on the Houston stage. To read more about the show, click here.

Wiz Khalifa Has A Message For His Haters
A year has almost passed since Wiz Khalifa announced that he will be releasing a new album titled Blacc Hollywood. Now, Wiz has assured fans that the album is on its way and he’s ready to “flex” on those who’ve hated “during the process.” In an interview with Billboard, the “We Dem Boyz” rapper confirmed that fellow stoner Miley Cyrus is on his album and talked about the possibility of having Bruno Mars and Charlie Wilson make appearances on the project. Since then, Wiz Khalifa has released a mixtape titled 28 Grams to hold fans over until the release of Blacc Hollywood.
Tyler, The Creator Fires Back At Annoying Fan
Famous people usually avoid the internet trolls but Tyler, The Creator was looking for a little fun when he fired back at a “fan” (if you add someone’s Twitter handle to your tweet, you’re a fan) who basically questioned why the rapper is famous. @BaseGod150 must have been rejoicing in the amount of mentions and follows he was receiving due to Tyler lashing out at him on his timeline. “SO SORRY @BaseGod150 THIS IS PROLLY THE MOST EXCITING THING THATS EVER HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE….THIS WEEK! CAUSE YOUR LIFE RULES I LOVE YOU.” The sarcasm in all-caps and the “I LOVE YOU” at the end was so hilariously disrespectful.
