Eminem has a knack for getting under the skin of racists, conservatives, hardcore feminists and the LGBTQ community — he’s been doing it since 1999 when he dropped his major label debut The Slim Shady LP. His verse on Big Sean’s 2017 I Decided track “No Flavors” was no different.
Par for the course, Slim Shady set his sights on several prevalent names in pop culture, including Donald Trump, far-right media pundit Ann Coulter, singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey and Michel’le, Dr. Dre’s former fiancée and World Class Wreckin’ Cru collaborator.
Shady once again reunited with Sean for the “Friday Night Cypher” from Sean Don’s highly anticipated Detroit 2 album, which arrived on Thursday night (September 3). The ambitious track features several Detroit rappers, including Tee Grizzley, Sada Baby, Boldy James, Kash Doll, 42 Dugg and more. This time, Em name drops Kendrick Lamar and Logic, proving he always has his finger on the Hip Hop pulse.
“I don’t think it would be logic for me to say that I’m retirin’,” he spits. “But I should say bye-bye, earthlings/’Cause I’m back on Uranus fuckin’ up this ‘Grindin’ beat, yeah,” a nod to Logic’s recent “retirement” announcement.
In terms of K. Dot — who has been spotted recently filming a music video — he gets a quick mention with Em rapping, “Like I don’t make sure every sentence and bar with a pencil is sharp, and I’m quick on the draw/Yeah, so when I pull it, surprise (Pull it, surprise), like Kendrick Lamar,” a slick reference to Kendrick’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN.
On Friday (September 4), Em tweeted about his involvement in the project, writing, “So happy to be a part of the sequel- @Big Sean #Detroit2 #fridaynightcypher,” to which Sean replied, “And your verse.” He added multiple head-exploding emojis for emphasis.
Detroit 2 serves as the follow-up to 2012’s Detroit mixtape and features Stevie Wonder, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Royce Da 5’9, Diddy, Erykah Badu, Sean’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Jhené Aiko, Dave Chappelle, Young Thug, Lil Wayne and more.

Em is simply washed up.. he must be back on heroin… he’s seeking a limelight that will not shine on him or his wack raps.. em do yourself a favor and just quit.. stop embarrassing these pathetic stan losers .. you bum.. Eaton John has sucked all the life out of this old ass lame.. trailer parks stink.. shut up.. fuck off.. loser
You are either too dumb or you know nothing about rap. Before u ever criticize make sure you are twice as better, or shut your fucking mouth you hater.
You lame ass bitch.. quit encouraging this man to keep trying to rap. He’s obviously lost his way and his talent.. if he ever even had any.. em is gay i cuck. Elton John has drained this pathetic dope fiend of his jizz.. of his life.. all em has left is a speedball and a one way ticket to hell.. I bet you still dye your hair blonde and eat boogers.. just like em.. you bitch you..
Em basically said he don’t give a fxck about satisfying his fans, Stans, african americans, afghanistans, librarians, republicans or aliens. So yes, he said nothing but more than the otha fellas on the track and he’s the only reason they put up the lyrics to the cypher. You ever seen that before?
If he doesn’t give a f why would he bother to write record promote an entire verse talking to them. Also being racist, homophobic and misogynist is not “getting under the skin” of minority groups. It actually makes people like incels, r*pists, mass shooters etc feel validated and confident to do crimes. He hasn’t been able to win argument about his punching down on minorities, on easy targets, low hanging fruit. That verse is hard to understand. Saying he feels like he is in a principles office. So he’s saying he is a school kid? I’ve never been a follower of his so I don’t get him. He is hard to relate to.
Ems verse was pretty wack…not the worst of the cypher but took him 2 1/2 minutes to say nothing…others said more in 16 bars lol. Also he bit that Pulitzer Prize line from Iron Solomon.
Solomon bit it from copywrite
The song was wack….I only liked Big Sean’s part because of the beat and his cartoony flow. Eminem sucked as usual but a certain pale race will tell you it was the dopest thing ever made.
Pale race here. This shit was junkyard juice. Em is terrible.
Can Eminem ever make headlines off of a verse without mentioning other artists/celebs? The guys verse was ass.
Interesting.
Let the Em hate begin lmfaoo
Wow, Em are these guys up. Again. Em, Royce, Sean, everything else was trash. I would of rapped a better verse than all the other rappers on this.
Hello shallow minded shady haters lol Em killed it as usual. No one comes close to all the attributes that goes into rap. Oh but wait, you dumb downed people say Em’s trash but steady check out every verse he drops? Haha foh lames. Nice life
Detroit 2 is fire. Em killed it. 42 dugg was under pressure with his mumbling. Overall, this is definitely THE Album we all been waiting for.
All 5 of you Em haters are jealous racist lil’ fellas. Mad that a white guy is still dominating you and your favorite rappers in his late 40’s. It’s not everyone else’s fault it all goes over your head. If you like mumble rappers that bump then stay in your lane. If you want to up your game then start to study up and realize why he is legendary in the rap game.
They are pretty funny aren’t they?? I think we all know who they are!! Every time they make a reply or comment it’s another W for Em. Keep punching at the air you 0.01%ers.
