ScHoolboy Q once passed on a beat that went on to be a major hit for Travis Scott.

Appearing on the Back On Figg podcast in an episode published on Friday (March 1), Q revealed that producer Cardo gave him the beat to “Goosebumps” first – but he ended up passing on it.

“Every Cardo beat you heard, I done had it,” Q said. “I had all these beats.”

When asked which one, if any, he regets turning down, he immediately said it was “Goosebumps,” which he also revealed was the original name for the beat.

“[Cardo] named the beat ‘Goosebumps.’ And I kept trying to get on the record. … I couldn’t come up with nothing. I guess he sent it to Travis.”

Q added: “Every time me and Travis see each other we always laugh about it ’cause it’s like, ‘Bruh you just took the name of the beat and made that joint. I blew it!’ The beat was just called ‘Goosebumps.’ That’s one of my regrets, bro.”

In other news, ScHoolboy Q is projected to have a promising week propelled by the release of his latest album Blue Lips, which seems to be landing well with fans.

According to Hits Daily Double, Blue Lips — the rapper’s first full-length release in five years — is anticipated to make a strong debut, with initial sales projections suggesting it will amass 30-35k album-equivalent units in its first week of release.

Q dropped the follow-up to 2019’s CrasH Talkon Friday (March 1). While it remains to be seen how his numbers will compare with other release this week, the projected numbers are about half of what the TDE rapper saw with his last release, which debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 74,000 album-equivalent units.

The 18-track disc boasts appearances from the likes of Freddie GibbsAb-Soul and Rico Nasty, as well as production from The Alchemist, Cardo and DJ Khalil, among others. Gibbs’ guest verse on “oHio” has already made waves thanks to some choice words aimed at the Indiana native’s long-running rival Akademiks.

On “oHio,” Gangsta Gibbs takes aim at Akademiks by calling him a “pussy n-gga” and threatening violence against him if they cross paths.

“Smack a n-gga in his mouth for the loot/ If I ever see that pussy n-gga Akademiks I’ma catch another lawsuit,” he raps.
