All eyes were on Drake’s social feeds this week to see if he’d respond to Joe Budden’s bombardment of slander (and praise). Instead, he commented on another story dominating the news cycle, the shooting death of Alton Sterling by police. The seriousness of the statement and the incident has changed the narrative in the Hip Hop community in the last couple of days, with artists and fans focusing more on issues of life and death rather than who said what in a song.
Either way, there has still been plenty of reaction to Budden’s “Wake” track since it dropped at 2:31 a.m. on Wednesday — the time listed on Drake’s birth certificate.
Opinion on the topic falls mostly into two camps: People who say Budden is wasting his time and looking more and more desperate with each new attack, and those who say Drake needs to drop some ether to show that he can compete with real lyricists.

As with the first diss track, Daylyt was quick to respond on wax, this time with a full song that opens with audio of Budden awarding a win to the battle rapper in a clip from “The Road To Total Slaughter.”
Here are some of the other reactions making noise on Twitter.

This the same Drake who was on stage acting like he wanted smoke with Murda Mook. Can’t tell me Joe Budden is too small an artist.
