Baton Rouge’s xelA7th is gearing up for his upcoming S.O.S. album, which is scheduled to drop on May 17. Ahead of its release, the up-and-coming MC has released a video for the project’s lead single “Watch.”

The visual was shot, directed and edited by Brandøm & RyaN Jéy, who HipHopDX readers might recognize as members of the Caleb Brown-led Black Cypress collective.

“In ‘Watch,’ I really just wanted to talk about obstacles I’ve had to face when it comes to my career and just life in general,” xelA7th tells DX. “It’s a song about proving yourself. Like, oh, you said I can’t do this, you said I can’t be that? Well, watch how I do it now. I’d like it to be something people listen to for motivation.”
