Filmed and edited by Chase Smith during the West Coast leg of Dee-1′s Slingshot David Tour, the Won By 1 mini-documentary depicts what life is like on the road for the New Orleans rapper. The short film begins with Dee’s words flashing across the screen, which read: “I’ve never forced my music upon people’s ears. I’ve always aimed to connect with people’s hearts instead. When it’s all said and done, my goal is to have won over as many people as possible, one by one.”
The adventure then kicks off in Phoenix, Arizona, and follows Dee throughout the West Coast and splices together countless hours of footage into 14-minutes. Backstage antics, performances and more make for an intriguing experience. Watch it above.
