Hailing from Maryland’s DMV area, KHIRY oviim is a young rapper who has been honing his craft since the age of 11. His music is a fusion of Hip Hop, R&B, and Future Bounce. At the same time, KHIRY’s music is also defined by his own myriad of hardships and life experiences, including periods of homelessness, a handful of heartbreaks, and frequent adventures into the realm of psychedelics. As KHIRY himself puts it, “I haven’t been in school since 2014, but if the hard knocks were recognized it’d be my alma mater.”

Now, he releases the official music video to his single “Love, Sex, Dreams.” How fitting, as the vision for the visual comes from none other than an LSD trip.

He states, “When I first sat down to conceptualize the ‘Love, Sex, Dreams’ visual supplement, I would listen to the song on repeat whilst pausing almost every two to three seconds to describe what I imagined. My inspiration was derived from many a psychedelia, psycho-nautical experiences with LSD, and shrooms so you can imagine my mind was beyond what is fathomable, but I made sure to bring it all back to earth. Acid is cheap, but explaining acid damn near extends past the wallet almost every time.

In the song’s first verse, I allude to a very specific trip, when me and my ex went down to the National Mall after dropping. I was really on a beach towel in the grass. I was watching faces shift in the clouds. I was watching bugs crawl through the ever-changing grass textures yards away from me. And I looked to my side, and she was there. And I was in love.

That is what I really wanted to convey with this audiovisual. I wanted to drive home the love. When I had finished my second-by-second detailing, I came to the conclusion that the plot would be this. I wake up in a surreal environment decorated in luxe and begin to account for my psychedelic experience while my significant other goes out to explore a new love. While I am chained to the couch and pouring out my feelings and emotions, she is beginning a new with someone new. It seems as though they are truly happy with one another. But, in a turn of events she actually comes to surprise me in what is discovered to be a photography studio. She is mine. Or maybe only in my dreams. Who knows.”
